Former Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) was shredded by leftists for praising former Alaskan governor Sara Palin’s return to normal living, dining outside in New York City two days after testing positive for COVID.

In an interview on “Jesse Watters Primetime” Friday, Bachmann outraged liberals by defending Palin’s actions while in New York for her defamation trial against The New York Times. A judge postponed the start of the trial because she tested positive for the virus. The city’s guidelines recommend that anyone testing positive for COVID isolate for at least five days.

When Watters brought the subject up to Bachmann on his show after pointing out the irony over liberals hyperventilating about Palin while crime rages on the Southern border, she praised Palin for getting back to living life which the left immediately became incensed over.

“But if you ask the liberal media, the biggest threat to America’s public health right now? Sarah Palin eating outdoors after testing positive for COVID,” he opened up with. “Don’t worry about Kamala’s root cause border policy… letting deadly drugs and savage gangs into America. It’s Sarah Palin that’s gonna kill ya.”

Watters went on to say that the whole country isn’t going to quarantine over the sniffles for five days and asked Bachmann if the left really thinks Palin will be on a ventilator.

“You know, my 91-year-old mom just got Omicron,” Bachmann told Watters. “And she had sniffles for about five seconds and she was done. Everybody obviously has different reactions to it. But I think, honestly, Sarah Palin is to be commended because she’s trying to act like a normal human being in the greatest city in America: New York City. She’s going out to eat at a wonderful little boutique Italian restaurant.”

Bachmann asserted that many Democratic officials have “misused their power” and have “lied” to Americans about the pandemic, vaccine efficacy, and mandates.

“And at this point, I think it’s time we start resuming normal American life, like going out to eat at a restaurant and acting like normal human beings rather than cowering in our basements,” she remarked.

Watters pointed out that Harris’ policies were “bringing in a lot more death and destruction than Sarah Palin’s droplets outside.” His astute summation of the incident did not stop the left from referring to Palin as “Typhoid Mary” over the outing.

The former vice-presidential nominee decided to dine outside on Wednesday in a heated outdoor enclosure at Elio’s restaurant on the Upper East Side. The left was quick to point out that the same establishment allowed her to eat indoors there on Saturday even though Palin is unvaccinated, proclaiming that all indoor diners in the city must be inoculated.

The city stated that Elio’s would not be investigated for allowing Palin to dine there on Saturday, according to The New York Times.

A spokesperson for Palin gave Mediaite a statement from Elio’s manager Luca Guaitolini, who said Palin came to the restaurant to apologize.

“Tonight Sarah Palin returned to the restaurant to apologize for the fracas around her previous visit,” the statement read. “In accordance with the vaccine mandate and to protect our staff, we seated her outdoors. We are a restaurant open to the public, and we treat all civilians the same.”

Palin is strongly opposed to getting vaccinated against COVID. In December, she told Turning Point USA that “it’ll be over my dead body that I’ll have to get a shot. I will not do that. I won’t do it, and they better not touch my kids either.”
