Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, slammed his fist onto a podium while attacking the media’s hypocrisy when it comes to masking up.
The dramatic and frustrated expression occurred during a press conference where Cruz was discussing the Democrats’ desire to end the filibuster. At one point, a reporter questioned Cruz about Republicans’ masking habits, causing Cruz to lash out, thumping the podium.
“I do know Dr. Fauci’s been all over the map about it. He’s said yes masks, no masks, he’s said, ‘Oh, I lied to the American people because they couldn’t handle it.’ At some point, the American people ought to be able to exercise their own freedom and make their decision.” Cruz mentioned, his frustration growing as his answer went on.
“And by the way, on the question of hypocrisy, you just asked, you people at the podium are speaking without masks. Just once, I’d like to see a reporter say to Joe Biden when he stands at the damn podium in the White House without a mask, ‘Mr. President, why aren’t you wearing a mask?'” he snapped. “Just once, I’d like to see you say to Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, when she stands at the podium with no mask, ‘Ms. Psaki, why don’t you have a mask?’ The questions are only directed at one side, and I got to say that the American people see the hypocrisy.”

“I think there’s been wild hypocrisy from the Biden administration when it comes to COVID policies [on] mask mandates where Joe Biden rightly said we shouldn’t have mandates, [on] vaccine mandates. As far as I know, everyone here has been vaccinated, double vaccinated, been boosted at some point,” Cruz mentioned.
His response was lauded on social media, as critics of President Joe Biden’s administration grow more and more weary of what feels like an eternal pandemic:

And then follow up that question with “why are you wearing a mask when you are on the beach, by yourself?” It’s all about political theater.

Biden takes his mask off when he get the podium and puts it back on after…

No, the question should be why people ARE wearing masks. Masks aren’t effective against omicron.

The press has lost all ability to be objective and report the news. It’s completely driven by agenda and opinion. They believe that the truth is what they say it is. They remind me of Pravda in the ’70s. They are wrong and as a result, hurt Americans. Pretty sad state of affairs.
