Fox News’ “The Five” mercilessly mocked Vice President Kamala Harris on Friday concerning her interview with Comedy Central host Charlamagne tha God and how an aide interrupted just as he asked her about who the real president is.

“Kamala was not prepared, she got defensive,” astutely declared co-host Lawrence Jones. “She has great moments when they can script them out, which we saw early in the campaign with Joe Biden. But when you start getting into policy and where she stands on things, and–don’t take my word for it. Look at her people. Her people don’t even trust her to answer the question because she clearly heard the question.”

Lawrence was referring to the Comedy Central host asking Harris who was president, Joe Biden or Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV). The question was in reference to Manchin standing in the way of Biden getting his Build Back Better Act passed.

Just as Charlamagne was asking Harris the awkward question, an aide, allegedly Symone Sanders, Harris’ chief spokesperson and senior adviser who is leaving her post at the end of the year, broke in during the interview live on air.

“I’m sorry,” she said, “I’m so sorry Charlamagne. We have to wrap.”

She claimed that Harris could not hear the question which turned out to be false. The interjection appeared to imply that the aide was concerned about Harris answering the question. She then apparently attempted to block the camera to end the interview at that point.

After some back and forth, Charlamagne asserted, “They’re acting like they can’t hear me.”

“I can hear you,” Harris tersely replied. Then she admonished him while wagging a finger at him to not act like a Republican and that Biden is president and she is vice president.

After getting scolded by Harris, Charlamagne told her, “I just want you to know, Madame Vice President, that Kamala Harris, that’s the one I like.”

“The Five” co-host Greg Gutfeld told Bill Hemmer that the aide interrupting was the best part.

“So, the best part you didn’t even clip was when he looked over to the side and goes, ‘Oh, they can hear me.’ Cause they claimed that they didn’t hear him,” Gutfeld remarked.

He called it “the most benevolent situation and it’s still that bad. That’s why she can’t do other interviews.”

“I’m getting the feeling that the Dems want an entire clean slate for 2024. It’s kind of like after a car accident or when your car gets stolen. And it’s returned and you just want the insurance company to total the car. You don’t want to repair the wreck,” he noted.

Co-host Dana Perino had a different take on the interview, claiming it would actually help Harris with her base.

“Midterm elections are not about independent swing voters who show up once in a while for a midterm,” she remarked. “These are about base elections. At the end of the interview, what Charlamgne says is, ‘That’s the Kamala I have missed, that’s the Kamala I want to see.’ So I have a feeling you’re going to see a lot more of that.”
