New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is biased against the south, said Fox News co-host Dagen McDowell, which appears to be true after AOC incorrectly assumed she represented more people than Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia.

During Monday’s episode of “The Five,” McDowell went off on Ocasio-Cortez for underestimating Manchin, who announced on Sunday that he will not be voting for President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better agenda.

“Ocasio-Cortez couldn’t win one county in the state of West Virginia, and they made the critical mistake of underestimating somebody because of where they’re from. And people from the South have historically used that to their advantage. Just like, ‘please assume that I’m stupid because I talk funny. Please assume that you could get one over on me easily because I’m from Virginia or West Virginia’, and then you sit back and you watch … their pomposity melt into horror when they realize they’ve lost,” she explained.

Prior to this analysis from McDowell, Ocasio-Cortez said during a Monday morning interview with MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that she represents more people than Manchin. This assertion is incorrect, but perhaps she believed it because, as McDowell said, she underestimates Manchin and his support simply because of where he comes from.

Watch:

“The House of Representatives, and that’s even with the gerrymandering, is the only majority that most reliably delivers the actual will of the majority of people and voters of the United States of America,” the New York Democrat had said.

“That is why they call this the people’s house,” she whined. “It is extremely difficult to hold together a House majority, and especially with the razor-thin margin that we have around this agenda. So the idea that Joe Manchin says he can’t explain this back home to his people is a farce. I mean, it’s a farce in terms of plain democracy, because I represent more, or just as many or more people than Joe Manchin does. Perhaps more.”

The hosts of the show couldn’t be bothered to explain to Ocasio-Cortez that actually, she represents an estimated 700,000 residents, while West Virginia has a whopping 1.8 million residents.

Twitter, on the other hand, had no problem letting her know how wrong she was:

So close, yet so far away.
