Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) is calling on President Joe Biden to act like a leader for once in his 40-plus years on the taxpayer dole and demand that local governments do more to stamp out the rampant crime that is consuming cities across the U.S.
The senator appeared on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends” on Friday, and he urged the president to send a clear message to leftist mayors and activist district attorneys that their “ridiculous attitude” on crime is a pestilence on America.
Referring to a report that Biden intends to distribute more federal funds in an attempt to remedy the suffering that citizens in major cities are enduring due to surging crime waves, Grassley remarked the amount could be doubled but it would still be only a “spit in the ocean” as police forces generally get the bulk of their funds from local sources.
Grassley said the onus rests at the feet of state and local governments, but that Joe Biden has the power to influence those leaders. After all, the president did say “the buck stops with me,” in an August speech, though that was in reference to his precipitous and deadly surrender to the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Hoping the president might heed his advice, Grassley said, “The president of the United States says he’s against defunding, but the best thing he could do is every day, from the bully pulpit, preach to all the mayors that want to defund police, “Don’t defund police” and preach to the DAs, most of them Democrats, that are in these big cities that say, “We aren’t going to prosecute this crime or that crime or another crime.”
“It’s OK to have prosecutorial discretion, and you might not punish some, but you don’t tell people that you aren’t going to enforce the law because if you don’t enforce the law it sends a signal to the criminal element, ‘I can go into stores in San Francisco, take out up to $950 and I’ll never be charged.’ So it’s a ridiculous attitude that we have in this country of Wild West law enforcement.”
And in terms of the apparent efforts by the Left and the Biden regime to reduce the nation to a hellscape run by criminals and thugs, the hits keep coming.
The Senate has now approved the appointment of Rachel Rollins to the position of Massachusetts District Attorney. Reports note that Rollins is a known racist with a history of being an ultra-lenient prosecutor who also happens to have a bit of a rage problem herself. The vote was yet another 50-51 decision with Vice President Harris having to once again cast the tie-breaking vote.
Tucker Carlson brought out the receipts on Rollins during Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Thursday night.

Tucker began his monologue with a story of a woman named Katie Lawson who was exiting a Boston mall last Christmas Eve when she noticed a woman in a Chevy Tahoe yelling at her. According to Carlson, “The woman rolled down her window and started to scream at Lawson, ‘You want me to write you a ticket?’ She barked, ‘Because I’ll write you a ticket. Today is not the day to try me.’ And with that, this mysterious woman turned on a set of police emergency strobe lights on her SUV.”
Upon reporting the disturbing incident to the local police, Lawson learned the angry woman impersonating a police officer was Rollins, the Suffolk County district attorney. After the story broke on the local news, Rollins never apologized for or seemed embarrassed by her actions. Rather, she compared herself to Emmett Till, a 14-year-old child who was lynched in 1955.
Tucker continued, “[Rollins] should be disqualified immediately from administering our laws. Rollins sees race first. She’s a racist, so she can’t be fair. This is all very obvious or should be obvious, it always has been obvious. Yet, amazingly, thanks to the principles of equity, Rachael Rollins has just been promoted.”
With Democrats (leftists) in control of the Executive branch as well as both the House and Senate, every day in America is better than the next.
