U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) asserted on Wednesday that if the GOP wins the midterm elections in 2022, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has promised to give her even better committee assignments than she had previously before they were stripped by Democrat leadership.

“Of course I’ve had conversations about that, and I’m guaranteed to get committees, and there’s no reason why I shouldn’t have them. I’ve been told by Kevin McCarthy, I’ve been told by Steve Scalise, I’ve been told by everyone, of course, I’m getting committee assignments back, and I’ll get better ones than I had in the first place, and there’s no reason why I shouldn’t have them,” Greene told reporters.

She posted the video of the interview on Twitter, stating, “In case the media clips my comments, here’s what I think about my conference’s lack of defense for members like me and @DrPaulGosar and the lack of action against the unlucky 13 who handed over their voting card to Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden.”

Greene was giving an interview to reporters as the House prepared to censure Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ) for posting an anime video that depicted him as a superhero dispatching socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) that was sent out in a now-deleted tweet. He defiantly defended his right to post it on the House floor Wednesday, referring to it as informative, and compared his conduct to that of Alexander Hamilton.

Greene also told reporters that any Republicans who voted to censure Gosar would find themselves “kicked out of the conference” and eventually stripped of their committee assignments. Then she tore into the 13 Republicans who voted for President Joe Biden’s infrastructure bill, calling them “traitors.”

“If we want to play committee games, we should do it properly,” she hotly contended.

The conservative firebrand was stripped of her committee assignments in February due to what the Democrats claimed was violent rhetoric and the promotion of conspiracy theories. That did not stop Greene from fighting back and standing by her principles. In fact, it motivated her to go after Democrats even harder.

McCarthy denounced Greene’s comments at the time but decried stripping her of committee assignments.

McCarthy joined Greene in objecting to Gosar being stripped of his committee assignments as well on Wednesday. But it was Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado who went beastmode on Gosar’s censure.

“Democratic policies are so pathetic and have done so poorly that the left has nothing else better to do but troll the Internet looking for ways to get offended and then try to target members to strip them of their committees,” she began. Boebert also strongly defended Greene when she was censured.

“This is a dumb waste of the House’s time, but since the Speaker has designated the floor to discuss members’ inappropriate actions, shall we?” Boebert continued.

“The Jihad Squad member from Minnesota has paid her husband—and not her brother husband—the other one, over a million dollars in campaign funds. This member is allowed on the Foreign Affairs Committee while praising terrorists,” she explosively stated, referring to Rep. Ilhan Omar.

“A Democratic chairwoman incited violence in the streets outside of a courthouse,” Boebert added.

“And then the cherry on top… my colleague and three-month presidential candidate from California who is on the Intelligence Committee slept with Fang Fang, a Chinese spy,” she asserted, referring to Rep. Eric Swalwell. “Let me say that again, a member of Congress who received classified briefings was sleeping with the enemy! This is unacceptable!”

If Republicans win the midterms in 2022, there will be a massive shake-up in committee assignments but an even bigger one across the nation politically.
