On Monday, Fox News host Laura Ingraham and contributor Raymond Arroyo went mega-viral all across the internet — even hitting the pages of World Star Hip Hop — for what appeared to be a “Who’s on first?” bit.
The segment involved Arroyo trying to tell Ingraham about an episode of the Netflix show “You.” Except that every time he referenced the show, Ingraham thought he was talking about her.
Naturally, this confusion led to a hilarious back-and-forth exchange not too dissimilar from the one made famous by legendary comedians Abbott and Costello, the creators of the “Who’s on first?” bit.
Here’s what their bit sounded like:
The exchange between Ingraham and Arroyo also led to many asking whether their interactions were by accident or by design. On Wednesday’s episode of Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle,” the dynamic duo finally answered this question.
“People are asking was it real or was it scripted, Laura,” Arroyo said to the Fox News host.
“What do you think?” Ingraham replied.
“I think people are craving something authentic and real, and they got a bit of that,” Arroyo responded, therefore suggesting but not confirming that it wasn’t staged.
“You know what I think, Raymond? I think there are a lot of liberals out there who don’t like conservatives having fun. That’s what I think!” Ingraham replied, further suggesting, but not confirming, that it wasn’t staged.
“You know what else I think? I think they haven’t gotten a laugh in like 30 years and a thing that we practiced for, what, like 30 seconds? We got like 20 million views on YouTube!” she then added, confirming for sure that it was, indeed, a bit.

The Fox News host wasn’t wrong. While their Monday exchange certainly inspired a lot of giggles, it also provoked anger and resentment from far-leftists.
Take Andy Richter, a so-called comedian who’s turned into a “woke” resistance warrior who identifies as a “privileged white liberal male.”
Here’s what he tweeted:
The fact that people are actually laughing at that Laura Ingraham thing makes me feel like I’ve wasted the last 35 years of my life

His fans were equally nasty.

The least funny, and very rehearsed comedy bit I’ve had the displeasure of being subjected to by far

I mean these are the same people who think “Let’s Go Brandon” is so clever, witty, and hilarious.

It is so obviously a badly acted bit they’re doing that l feel like I’m losing my mind seeing all these people reacting like it’s real or actually funny 🙄
— SuperboffinLA (@SuperboffinLA) November 16, 2021
It’s not even close to being funny. It’s just stupid.
— Lousy Shot (@IAmLousyShot) November 16, 2021
Same. It’s #cringe, it’s #fake, it’s #stupid, and if it made you #laugh, and not in a #sad way, you should do some #introspection.

Not laughing at her attempted joke or whatever it was supposed to be, but laughing because it made her look like an even bigger idiot

Apparently, the legendary, widely emulated bit that the duo sought to pay homage to is “cringe,” “fake” and “stupid.” Who knew?
For those Americans who think otherwise, Ingraham and Arroyo briefly went in for round two during Wednesday’s broadcast.
Here’s how it went:
Ingraham: “Well, whatever the case, with all the publicity, I mean, I think the show ‘You’ should be really happy.”
Arroyo: “The show me and the private me are very happy, Laura.”
Ingraham: “No, no. I meant the show ‘You.’ The show ‘You,’ idiot!”
Arroyo: “Show me what, idiot?”
Ingraham: “I was saying — this is so stupid now — I can’t do this. No, this show, ‘You,’ because of all the publicity they got.”
Arroyo: “Well, the show me and the private me is doing fine. How’s the show you today?”
Ingraham: “First of all, I can’t deal with you right now. I’ve got a lot — there’s a lot of pressure with this crowd. You got to go on the road.”
Arroyo: “I am going on the road. In fact, I’m doing a book signing in Mesa, Arizona on Monday. I hope ya’ll all come.”
Though the original bit clearly triggered leftist backlash, it did also prompt praise, including from Penn Badgley, one of the actors on “You.”
It also attracted the attention of Netflix:

Definitely a bit. His delivery is great tho https://t.co/8UFfy7IpZf

It’s gotta be a bit. Dude is committed, he actually made me lol, but watch how he waits for her to cut him off.

100% a bit.
