Resistance to President Joe Biden’s employer vaccine mandate is growing as the administration puts the finishing touches on the order that threatens workers with the loss of their livelihoods if they decline to be jabbed.
It is expected that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the agency that will be tasked with enforcing Biden’s dictatorial edict, will soon make the formal announcement, increasing pressure on Americans who are already being battered by inflation and shortages just before the holiday season to submit or be fired.
With the mandate now imminent, Senate Republicans are moving towards a preventative strike and Fox News reports that over three dozen lawmakers are “moving to formally disapprove and nullify” Biden’s unprecedented threatening of private sector businesses.
According to Fox News, the senators plan to use the Congressional Review Act to put the kibosh on the mandate, the formal process for the legislative branch to eliminate an executive branch rule.
Spearheading the effort is Sen. Mike Braun of Indiana, the top Republican on the Senate Subcommittee on Employment and Workplace Safety who ripped Biden’s “heavy-handed government” while defending businesses as having taken COVID “seriously from the beginning to keep employees and customers safe,” according to Fox News.
“Now, when we’re finally at kind of an equilibrium, you’re putting an ultimatum on them,” Braun told Fox News. “Either get the vaccine or lose your job.”
He added, that the mandate will be “the single biggest disruptor in one fell swoop” to businesses as they stand to lose qualified employees who would rather lose their job than submit to vaccine coercion.
According to Fox News:
“The Congressional Review Act (CRA) can be used by Congress to overturn certain federal agency regulations and actions through a joint resolution of disapproval. If a CRA joint resolution of disapproval is approved by both houses of Congress and signed by the president, or if Congress successfully overrides a presidential veto, the rule at issue is invalidated.”
The network cites GOP aides, “Once OSHA publishes the formal mandate into the Federal Registry, the rule will be transmitted to the House of Representatives and the Senate. At that point, a “20 day clock” begins,” with the formal disapproval being eligible for a Senate floor vote after the 20 days have been passed.
Braun and the Senate Republicans plan to hold a Wednesday press conference expressing their opposition to the mandate.
Senator Mike Lee told Fox News, “The president cannot rule by decree.”
“President Biden’s mandate is the most egregious incursion on the medical rights of Americans in our nation’s history, and it clearly exceeds the president’s power,” he said.
“This resolution will allow Congress to protect the American people and the Constitution,” Lee added.
Biden sent shockwaves through the country in September when he angrily lashed out at those who, for a number of reasons, remain hesitant to be vaccinated, announcing that his patience has run out and that he doesn’t give a damn about personal freedom, particularly when it comes to health decisions.

Biden directed the Department of Labor to issue an emergency rule mandating businesses with more than 100 employees – which amounts to 80 million workers – to require their workforce to be vaccinated, an unprecedented move by the federal government that will punish violators with severe financial penalties.
On Monday, the Labor Department announced, “On November 1, the Office of Management and Budget completed its regulatory review of the emergency temporary standard. The Federal Register will publish the emergency temporary standard in the coming days,” a department spokesperson said.
One House Republican, Andy Biggs of Arizona, has gone a step further, introducing a bill that would eliminate OSHA entirely.

Congressional Democrats will inevitably cry foul but they, themselves, have used the Congressional Review Act to erase orders issued by former President Donald J. Trump.

Senate Republicans who have yet to join the effort are Mitch McConnell, Richard Shelby, Susan Collins, Roy Blunt, Lisa Murkowski, Mitt Romney, Bill Cassidy, Tim Scott, and Rob Portman who are waiting until OSHA makes its move, according to Fox News.
