McAuliffe spokesperson nailed over ‘racist’ tweets, has worked on Biden, Harris campaigns

Renzo Olivari, a spokesperson for Terry McAuliffe’s gubernatorial campaign in Virginia who has also worked for both Biden and Harris campaigns, was exposed for sending out blatantly racist tweets in 2012 that have since been deleted.

“#TweetLikeAGuy going out with da nigguhs,” one of Olivari’s tweets shamefully stated in 2012.

Another tweet from that same year reads, “#ThingsBlackFolksNeverThrowAway broken lamps.”

“Terry McAuliffe’s comms guy kinda sounds like a racist,” GOP operative Arthur Schwartz noted via Twitter on Friday as he revealed the tweets from Olivari.

The damning statements come just days before McAuliffe faces off against Republican Glenn Youngkin in the governor’s race.

McAuliffe has been plagued by numerous major missteps in the election including standing against parents over having a say in what their children are taught in school. There is also the matter of a group of staged “white supremacists” with unlit tiki torches standing in front of Youngkin’s bus. The anti-Trump Lincoln Project has taken credit for the ill-considered stunt but many believe that McAuliffe, at the very least, knew about it even though he has denounced the incident.

Olivari profusely apologized for the tweets in a statement to Fox News, saying, “As a person of color, I have tried to live my whole life fighting for communities like mine. When I was a high school student, I tweeted things that were clearly unacceptable.”

“I am ashamed and I profoundly regret what I tweeted. I take full responsibility and I want to profoundly apologize and use this as a moment to grow and learn from my mistakes. I will continue working to fight for communities like mine in every way that I can,” he added.

Olivari served as the Nevada press secretary for Kamala Harris For The People according to his LinkedIn profile. He also served as Virginia Communications Director for Joe Biden’s presidential campaign.

His Twitter bio says he does “Comms for @TerryMcAuliffe.” He also describes himself as an “Alum of @JoeBiden, @Mike2020, @KamalaHarris, @NVDems, @VADemocrats, & @JMU.”

Although Olivari deleted the tweets, Fox News was able to get screenshots of them. They also obtained screenshots of his LinkedIn profile.

The election is next Tuesday and, according to a Fox News Poll, Youngkin now leads McAuliffe in the state by eight points. The race is seen as a barometer for the 2022 midterm elections. Youngkin stands at 53 percent in the poll with McAuliffe at 45 percent. The gap is wide enough to take Youngkin’s lead outside the poll’s margin of sampling error.

Two weeks ago, McAuliffe was leading 51 to 46 percent in the race. Youngkin’s surge has now flipped the race on its head as America watches what will happen next week.

People are wondering why this took so long to surface and are noting that it could all be over for McAuliffe very soon:
