‘Knows exactly what he’s doing’: Rep. Swalwell blames Fox host for profane voicemail from alleged ‘fan’

The left is escalating their war with Tucker Carlson following a menacing voicemail received by Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell in which an alleged viewer went on a diatribe that included horrifying language about the congressman’s family.

On Friday, Swalwell tweeted out an uncensored recording of the message which lasted over a minute and a half and included extreme profanity, racial and homophobic epithets,

The caller said, “Here’s some intelligence motherf***er, they just showed you on Fox News on Tucker Carlson saying that Babbitt, that unarmed veteran, that white woman that was shot by a cop, you said that he’s a brave officer shooting a serious threat, he was a coward b*tch who shot an unarmed white woman,” referring to Capitol Police officer Michael Byrd who gunned down Ashli Babbitt during the so-called “insurrection,” before unleashing a torrent of racist bile.

The caller also ranted about former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe who just had his pension restored, “lying traitor little b*tch,” the Clinton cartel, and the “Obama Marxist n*****s” as well as the Chinese spy who Swalwell canoodled with, expressing the opinion that he should move to China to be with her.

**WARNING: EXTREME PROFANITY/RACIAL LANGUAGE**

The call concluded with the Carlson “fan” saying that he hoped that the “foreign invaders that you’re letting into this country, I hope they chop you and your family up and feed ’em to their dogs,” in a rant from a clearly disturbed individual who also identified himself as a supporter of former President Donald J. Trump.

In addition to sharing the vile recording in its entirety, Swalwell tweeted, “Listen to this. It’s the Tucker Carlson effect. Tucker attacks me. His fans respond with threats to kill my family. And Tucker knows exactly what he’s doing.”

By blaming Carlson for the words – or actions – of his viewers, Swalwell is venturing into dangerous territory, and he appeared with former Bush administration flack and MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace who has suggested that the Biden administration should target supporters of former President Donald J. Trump with drone attacks.

Wallace set the table for Swalwell: “There are new threats and brutal verbal abuse directed at a Democratic lawmaker, just the latest and among the more shocking evidence of a radicalized, far-right extremist agenda and Republican Party all in service and loyalty to the disgraced ex-president.”

Wallace also spoke of “death threats” against Swalwell’s family despite the recording not containing any actual threats, only the expressed hope that they would be chopped up by the “foreign invaders” and fed to their dogs.

“I don’t want to amplify the threat, but I do want you to characterize how it was different,” Wallace said as she welcomed Swalwell. “In the arena, we all see a lot of this. But this felt different. Tell me why.”

“It did, Nicolle. And we receive hundreds of threats, what was specific about this was the caller identified he had just been watching Tucker Carlson,” the congressman replied.

“Now, we get a lot of threats that come in as Tucker Carlson attacks me, but this person identified he had just heard from Tucker Carlson,” Swalwell said, “he was now calling my office and then of course dropped a number of racist, sexist, homophobic epithets in the call, and then threatened to kill my entire family. And what is so frustrating about this, Nicolle, is that I have personally, eyeball to eyeball, asked Tucker Carlson not to lie about me on his show because of this effect.”

Despite his tweeting of the recording, Swalwell lied about the caller who did not explicitly threaten to personally kill Swalwell and his family, he also appeared to suggest that the caller had heard from Carlson directly.

Swalwell’s tweet was the equivalent of whipping shovelfuls of bloody red meat to the authoritarian leftists who are demanding that their political enemies be silenced, especially Carlson.

“I don’t understand why inciting this kind of behavior isn’t met with serious jail time? Tucker knows what he is doing!” one Twitter user reacted.

“Just Your average GOP voter and rally attendee. Hate filled and angry. Tucker and trump give them this warped energy,” another wrote.

” Listen to this call. This is who the Trump-supporting Republicans in Congress and across the country are catering to. It’s sick,” CNN analyst Asha Rangappa tweeted.

There is also the hypocrisy of the lack of a similar reaction after a deranged fan of MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and Bernie Sanders supporter named James T. Hodgkinson showed up at the Alexandria, Virginia field where the Republican congressional baseball team was practicing on a sunny summer morning in 2017 and opened fire with the intent to massacre as many GOP lawmakers as he could.

To a lesser degree, Republican Senator Rand Paul who was present during the attempted slaughter had his family actually threatened by a lunatic who wanted to chop them up with an ax but the real issue is that these public officials didn’t rush to blame Maddow and Sanders for Hodgkinson’s rampage.

But at the time of the 2017 shooting, the government wasn’t under the control of a party that will resort to any means necessary to accrue power and has already made serious moves to weaponize the federal government against its political foes in advance of the 2024 election, especially by targeting Trump supporters. And the message to Swalwell is yet another golden opportunity to make its case about domestic extremism.

Of course, the recording could be a hoax, after all, it’s not as if these people haven’t lied before.
