Coming to America soon? German parking garage installs ‘diversity’ spaces

An underground German parking garage has reserved “diversity” spaces for vehicles driven by LGBTQ and migrant drivers so people who feel “a special need for protection” will feel safe.

Hanauer Parkhaus GmbH has reportedly reserved three spots specifically designated for the LGBTQ community and migrants in their structure in Hanau, which is just outside Frankfurt, according to the Daily Mail.

Thomas Morlock, who is the chairman of the HPG supervisory board and a city official, claims that the company’s goal in providing the segregated parking spaces is to give individuals a sense of security and protection.

The parking spaces stand out because rainbow colors of the pride flag are painted in front of the spots with the words “Vielfalt Parkplätze” which translates to “diversity spaces.” The selected parking spaces are next to each other and are closer to the exit of the multi-story parking lot.

Morlock asserts that the parking spots were built to be a “conspicuously colorful symbol” for “diversity and tolerance.” Then he confusingly stated that they are not necessarily meant to be used by a “separate group of people.” Ironically, that appears to be exactly the purpose of the segregated spaces.

“The sometimes homophobic and xenophobic reactions make it clear that the action was right and necessary,” he said, according to the German paper Berliner Zeitung.

It is unclear how authorities will enforce who gets to park in the spaces and ensure that someone is part of the LGBTQ community or a migrant. HPG is claiming that a security camera will monitor the car park and the allotted spaces.

Authorities had evidently hoped this would get them a pat on the back from the locals but, instead, they are calling them out for alienating these groups.

“Child and old-age poverty, single mothers at their financial limit, pensioners who have to live on bottle deposits and leftovers from garbage cans,” one local tweeted. “But for City Councilor Thomas Morlock in Hanau there is nothing more important than setting an example for tolerance.”

Former Nevada GOP chairwoman Amy Tarkanian asked “how will they verify this?” She wasn’t the only one asking that question.

“How do you enforce this? are people now gonna start getting gay licenses like they do for handicap parking spots?” another user tweeted.

Some members of the LGBT community have tried to make the spaces inclusive and have urged fellow drivers to park in the “Diversity Spaces” whenever they want to show solidarity with the community.

Germany has become notorious over recent years for admitting thousands of migrants, primarily from Islamic countries. They flock to the country’s open borders from Africa, the Middle East, and all over the world looking for asylum, lax laws, and free handouts.

According to Germany’s Federal Statistical Office, there were 1.8 million people with a refugee background living in Germany as of 2018.

On February 19, 2020, a gunman opened fire on two shisha lounges in the center of Hanau, killing 11 people. Nine of those killed had ethnic roots outside of Germany. The shooter wounded five others before taking his own life as well as his mother’s.

People are not impressed with Germany’s wokeness:
