‘Apologize!’ Gutfeld and Geraldo throw down in monster screaming match: ‘Let me respond to your lie to your face!’

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld got into an angry and explosive exchange with Geraldo Rivera on-air over thousands of illegal Haitian immigrants at the southern border and rising crime rates.

“The press and Jen Psaki is going after the Border Patrol for doing their job because Biden and the enabling media wouldn’t do their job,” Gutfeld posited on “The Five” Wednesday. “They had to wait for that one image, one singular image as Chris Cuomo points out so that they can manufacture a story out of one image. It’s a consequence of their own corruption.”

“What does that remind you of? The media and the Democrats ignoring the rampant violent crime that started last summer all the way to the present time. All of our cities are degraded, dangerous,” he continued.

Rivera appeared to not get Gutfeld’s point and tried to cut him off.

“Stop, Geraldo,” Gutfeld said. “Let me finish. I let you talk for God knows how long.”

After Gutfeld finished speaking, Rivera proceeded to address his remarks and insinuated that he was suggesting that the Haitians would commit crimes if they were allowed into the country.

“I have to rebut what Greg said about Haitian immigrants and crime,” Rivera wrongly claimed. He challenged Gutfeld to produce evidence linking Haitian immigrants and a rise in crime.

That’s when things really went off the rails. Gutfeld did not take kindly to being accused of something he didn’t say.

“Oh, my God. You are so wrong, Geraldo,” he said.

“What does crime have to do with these people? You know what their crime is?” Rivera accusingly stated.

“Jesus Christ, you are totally misreading this! I was talking about how the media covers the story!” Gutfeld snapped.

“These–” Rivera started, but he was cut off by Gutfeld who was fully enraged at this point.

“No, no because you screwed up. It’s embarrassing, Geraldo. You’re embarrassing me,” Gutfeld angrily asserted.

“Well, be embarrassed,” Rivera dismissively told him.

“No, because you’re wrong!” Gutfeld informed him.

“No, no, no, no. Let me respond to your lie to your face! I was talking about how the media ignored a story about the crime issue! It wasn’t about Haiti! Jesus! Apologize!” Gutfeld yelled after some crosstalk took place.

“You wanted to make this stereotypical linkage,” Rivera tried again. “Haitians have been screwed in immigration—”

“No, he didn’t,” co-host Dana Perino said, defending Gutfeld.

“That is so wrong. So wrong,” Gutfeld reiterated.

“The point went over your head, Geraldo,” Watters stated at the end of the segment. “Just admit it.”

Rivera eventually apologized to Gutfeld later in the show after co-host Dana Perino read the transcript of Gutfeld’s comment to him.

“He did not say Haitians are causing crime to go up,” she told Rivera.

“I apologize, Greg,” Rivera grudgingly said.

“I accept your apology,” replied Gutfeld.

Rivera then tried to justify his inappropriate response, “My problem with what you said is the juxtaposition, even though you did not intend it between violent crime, which is a separate topic and you made that clear in the point and that’s why I apologize, and the Haitian immigrants.”

Gutfeld concluded, “We cannot turn into ‘The View’ and become emotional about things.”

Rivera was roasted on social media:
