Dems, media uniformly respond with outrage over viral claim Border Patrol is using ‘whips’ on migrants

Democrats and their media allies have finally expressed outrage over events on the southern border.

Well, one event in particular, anyway. An event that they got entirely wrong, but that’s not all that important when there’s an effective political narrative to be had. As we know, a lie can travel halfway ’round the world before the truth can get its shoes on.

The left responded in chorus to distorted claims that mounted Border Patrol agents were using “whips” on Haitian migrants trying to enter America illegally. The only problem with the story is that they’re mistaking reins used to control a horse with a whip — which either shows their ignorance of horseback riding or their zealotry to spin the truth for political gain.

Mind you, this outrage is taking precedence over more than a million illegal immigrants flowing across the southern border this year alone, many infected with COVID-19 and being transported by the thousands by the Biden administration to all four corners of the country. In addition to this super-spreader action, the nation has just witnessed over 15,000 migrants set up a tent city under a Texas bridge in 100+ degree heat with no provisions or facilities.

There were two key sources of the claim that Haitian refugees were being corralled with whips. One being an article from the El Paso Times, and the other being a tweet from a Democratic operative that went viral:

“As the Haitians tried to climb onto the U.S. side of the river Sunday afternoon, the agent shouted: ‘Let’s go! Get out now! Back to Mexico!'” the Times wrote. “The agent swung his whip menacingly, charging his horse toward the men in the river who were trying to return to an encampment under the international bridge in Del Rio after buying food and water in Ciudad Acuña, Mexico. One migrant fell as he tried to dodge, others shielded their heads with their hands.”

The story of poor migrants just wanting a better life being physically abused exploded across social media Monday night. Washington Times reporter Mike Glenn explained in response to the ridiculous reaction that what they’re seeing in the photo are agents riding riding “western” style.

“They are using what’s known as a ‘split rein’ to control the horse. It’s where the reins are attached to the bit but aren’t attached to each other,” he noted.

But Democratic lawmakers who have spent the entire year looking the other way as President Joe Biden surrendered U.S. sovereignty, resulting in a wide-open southern border, have no time for the truth.

Leading the parade of dishonesty, of course, were Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore.

And members of “the Squad” of radical left Democrats got in on the propaganda ploy, with U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., all but publicly proclaiming that she believes in open borders.

AOC said in a tweet: “Immigration should not be a crime, and its criminalization is a relatively recent invention. This is a stain on our country.”

U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., responded with vulgarity because that’s what she does.

The same media that has thrown journalistic integrity to the wind to ignore the ever-worsening humanitarian crisis on the border to protect the man they helped elect to the White House did its part to carry water here also.

Here are but a few examples, beginning with the angry race lady at MSNBC, Joy-Ann Reid:

The way the left mobilizes, almost in unison, to exploit a narrative is something to behold.

Oddly, the racist MSNBC host has little to say about reports that the Haitians will be sent back to their country while Hispanic migrants apparently will not be. Although, given how dishonest this administration is, where they use drones to strike an innocent Afghan family, killing seven children, to save face for our inept commander in chief and claim it was ISIS-K terrorist, Reid probably knows there’s little truth to the claim.

Of all the politically motivated hype, one Democratic operative rose above all others when he stupidly called for the Border Patrol to testify before Congress on how many whips they are purchasing, despite the fact that there are no whips in use:

Social media was quick to respond to the deluge of misinformation that’s not likely to draw a single fact check from Big Tech’s Orwellian censors. A response that didn’t go too well for Max Burns, or NBC News’ Shannon Pettypiece, who shared the El Paso Times’ story.
