California mayor indignant after being caught ‘having a good time’ without mask

Democrat leaders continue to flout their own coronavirus rules and the latest offender is San Francisco Mayor London Breed who defended herself after being busted partying without a mask in a packed club despite the city’s mandate that citizens wear the stifling face coverings while in indoor settings.

Breed dropped by the Black Cat on Wednesday where she sang and danced with others in attendance including Black Lives co-founder Alicia Garza who was also unmasked in violation of the city’s order that masks must be worn with the exception of eating and drinking.

Her exploits were captured by a San Francisco Chronicle editor who posted a video of the Democrat on Twitter but instead of being ashamed of her hypocrisy and apologizing, Breed took a defiant stance, huffing about the indignity of it all and the audacity of those who believe that she should be required to follow her own rules.

“No, I’m not going to sip and put my mask on, sip and put my mask on, sip and put my mask on, eat and put my mask on,” she angrily told reporters, “while I’m eating and I’m drinking. I’m going to leave my mask off.”

The Democrat also blasted the story as “a distraction” but, as Bay Area Fox News affiliate KTVU-2 pointed out, the video “shows Breed was maskless while standing and dancing, not just while she was eating and drinking among a group of people,” a clear violation of the city’s rule that masks were required for all activities with the exception of being “seated at a table or positioned at a stationary counter or place while eating or drinking.”

Mayor Breed claimed that “My drink was sitting at the table. I got up and started dancing because I was feeling the spirit and I wasn’t thinking about a mask.”

“I was thinking about having a good time and in the process, I was following the health orders,” she said.

She also lashed out that she and those with whom she was partying, “don’t need the fun police to come in and micromanage and tell us what we should or shouldn’t be doing,” according to a Fox News report.

Breed, who is San Francisco’s first black female mayor isn’t a first-time offender either.

Last year,  she was caught at the same swanky Napa Valley dining establishment that hosted Governor Newsom and his lobbyist friends when he was also busted.

She played the victim after criticism over the dinner at the French Laundry.

“I didn’t violate any order, but I understand that people had a lot of frustration from what they saw happen with the governor and that basically spilled on to me,” she said at the time.

Breed and her “rules are for thee and not for me” approach to COVID mitigation has raised the hackles of Bay Area residents and her arrogant response after flagrantly violating the mask mandate that others are ordered to obey is yet another example of Democrat leaders placing themselves above the law.
