Actress Zoe Kravitz defends herself after baring it all at Met Gala

Actress Zoë Kravitz wore a stunning sheer metal mesh Saint Laurent gown to the 2021 Met Gala on Monday that left virtually nothing to the imagination and a number of fans criticized her on Instagram for the revealing outfit.

The dress even came with a matching silver thong but not much else. Kravitz posed for the cameras all over the red carpet almost naked while flashing her behind at the America-themed event.

One person asked on Instagram, “Where’s the dress?” Another stated, “I don’t get why women feel it’s ok to walk around naked … take some damn pride in yourself.” A third posted, “I don’t understand why they go practically naked. She’s gorgeous. Why does she feel the need to wear a dress like this??”

Kravitz shot back at her critics with a succinct reply, according to Comments by Celebs, “Being uncomfortable with the human body is colonization/brainwashing. It’s just a body. We all got em.”

Kravitz was at the Met with rumored boyfriend Channing Tatum who was fully clothed in a very handsome Versace tuxedo. The couple arrived separately but were seen together inside the event and at the afterparties including one thrown by singer Alicia Keys.

Made from glittering YSL-emblem chains and accessorized with silver earrings and red nails, the “Divergent” actress elegantly posed repeatedly at the most prestigious event on the fashion calendar.

Taraji P. Henson, Teyana Taylor, and others also wore revealing outfits. It seemed to be a trend for the event. They were joined by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who made a political statement by wearing a gown that said “Tax the Rich.”

This year’s Met Gala celebrated the opening of the Costume Institute’s new exhibition “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.” Reportedly adhering to the event’s theme, celebrities arrived in their best interpretations of American fashion and excellence which evidently included wearing as little as possible.

The first part of the exhibition premiers on September 18, while the second part, “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” will open on May 5, 2022.

This is not the first time that the “High Fidelity” actress has addressed comments relating to her fashion choices.

In late July, while donning a blue ribbed tank top and long gray silk skirt with flip flops, the actress made headlines for dressing casually and not wearing a bra. The headlines grabbed her attention and managed to get a response out of her.

Sharing a screenshot of a headline that proclaimed, “Zoë Kravitz Goes Braless While Meeting Up With Friend For Lunch,” to her Instagram Story on July 26, she captioned the post, “Time to evolve. How is this headline ok?”

In a 2018 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Kravitz asserted that she tries to remain “unapologetically herself.”

“I think a lot of women are taught to make themselves smaller, to be quiet and be well behaved,” she stated during the interview. “So, allowing yourself to be wild and loud and scream who you are from the rooftops is bold and beautiful.”

Everyone had an opinion on Kravitz and her barely-there dress as well as the gala itself:
