Liberals viciously turn on CNN’s new anchor Kasie Hunt for criticizing Democrat elites

CNN’s newest addition Kasie Hunt stumbled into a leftist hornet’s nest on Tuesday when she broke rank with the liberal network and called Democrats out for their partisan elitist politics following Governor Gavin Newsom’s win in the California recall election.

“CA GOV BIG PICTURE: One of the top Democrats in the country got caught living like an elite while everyone else suffered. Elites vs. the rest is the driving force in our politics right now and Democrats have a tough needle to thread both in California & nationwide. Democrats need to prove they can govern for EVERYBODY, and if you look at California — it’s not necessarily the best test case for national Democrats (see: concern about homelessness, crime, etc),” Hunt tweeted.

“Republicans not named Trump did learn they had unrealized opportunities with working class voters (including Black and Latino voters) as they watched 2020 returns roll in,” she stated.

“Obviously California is a Special Place — but the fact that a Democratic national star in waiting *faced* a recall and then had to fight hard for it midway through the campaign does say a lot about the potential challenges Democrats face across the map,” Hunt added in her thread. “Especially if President Biden can’t demonstrate he’s capable of getting the resurgent pandemic under control, has another competence crisis a la Afghanistan, can’t get his budget plan through Congress, etc.”

CNN’s new chief national affairs analyst came on board in September after eight years toiling away at MSNBC. Her fearless statements on social media concerning Democrats and how they need to appeal to everyone, not just leftist radicals, were met with viciousness and widespread scolding by liberals on social media.

The first up to bat was Hunt’s former MSNBC colleague Malcolm Nance who disparaged her big time.

“Oh this is just plain old stupid,” Nance caustically said.

Activist Darlene McDonald tried to shame Hunt, “How does a really good news anchor get this so very wrong? We all make mistakes. I employ Ms Hunt to take a second look at this and perhaps, rewrite it with a renewed outlook. I’m not giving up on her. She’s better than this take.”

USA Today Editor Doug Farrar blasted Hunt, claiming she “gets reporting and opinion confused to a truly gobsmacking degree.”

Former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann nastily lashed out at Hunt declaring it is “genuinely hard to believe you have spent any days prior to this one covering politics.”

Singer John Legend also took a swing at Hunt. “He faced a recall because it’s ridiculously easy to start a recall in California. He won in a landslide that probably won’t reflect much erosion from his last election, if any,” Legend tweeted. “This analysis seems to be ignoring these very salient points.”

Ian Millhiser, who is the senior correspondent at Vox, tweeted that “we can all agree that Kasie Hunt is the biggest loser in the California recall.”

Elie Mystal, who is the justice correspondent at The Nation, quipped, “Larry Elder: I lost on California recall election night. Kasie Hunt: Hold my beer.”

It didn’t stop there. Liberals lined up to take shots at Hunt on social media for daring to speak the truth and not toe the party line:
