The Five nails ‘too stupid’ Lemon for telling unvaxxed not to go to hospital: ‘Combo of dumba**ery and cruelty’

The co-hosts of “The Five” tore into CNN host Don Lemon on Wednesday following his comments telling unvaccinated individuals to not bother going to the hospital because they were too selfish and arrogant.

Lemon made his harsh comments on Tuesday night, “Some people who are so selfish are saying, ‘It’s my freedom and I don’t wanna get vaccinated. I don’t wanna do that!’ Ok, fine! But think about someone other than yourself. And if you don’t believe that COVID is real and that it can’t affect your health and possibly take your life, don’t go to the hospital then when you get sick!”

“This exposes the combination of like, dumbassery and cruelty by Don Lemon because he’s literally saying if you smoked and you get lung cancer, you don’t get any treatment,” co-host Dagen McDowell noted. “He’s too stupid to be on TV, but he’s perfect for CNN.”

“I just wonder when CNN will stop pretending to be news,” Greg Gutfeld posited. “Their anchors are more opinionated than Boston cab drivers. They are the national shame network. Every hour now is about how bad you are.”

He quipped, “What he’s doing is creating a straw man, and then he creates this kind of prism of two ideas. ‘You’re either this or you’re this. Therefore, you should be over there.’ He’s not actually interested in persuasion at all. He’s indulging the dopamine rush he gets from shaming people. He’s like a human walking tweet.”

Gutfeld alluded to the fact that Lemon probably made the caustic remarks for attention “because his ratings are tanking.”

Later, “The Five” cohost would go on to say on his show “Gutfeld!”, “Makes sense, Don. Now, do smokers, do drinkers, fat people, motorcyclists, mountain climbers, and other elevated risk-takers. Maybe we should make hospitals only for people who deserve to go to the hospital. You know, it’s so much more fun to divide than unite, vaxxers versus anti-vaxxers. No wonder we’re crushing Don’s show like one of Kat’s Adderall pills in a club bathroom. I didn’t spill any secrets.”

Even leftist Geraldo Rivera thought Lemon’s take was over the top, “Don’t go to the hospital if you get sick. That’s a little harsh.”

Co-host Will Cain branded Lemon “stupid and mean at the same time” and remarked that he’s “a dangerous person.”

Making Cain’s point, Lemon seemed to be pitting those who are vaccinated against those who aren’t.

“You and I both agree … this is going to be between the vaccinated and the unvaccinated moving forward in this country,” Lemon said. “And I just think if you don’t want to play by any of those rules and then all of a sudden you end up in the hospital, I feel bad – but maybe you shouldn’t go and take up the resources from someone else. That’s it.”

“Don’t take up the resources from other people who are playing by the rules, getting vaccinated, social distancing, and putting their lives on the line to try to take care of the people who are there. That’s all I’m saying. That’s how I feel and I have no apologies,” Lemon asserted later in the segment.

Lemon was called out on social media for his remarks:
