Cawthorn demands Harris invoke 25th Amendment to remove Biden after Afghanistan bloodbath

U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) called on Vice President Kamala Harris to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove President Joe Biden from office due to his incompetency in handling the Afghanistan evacuation and troop drawdown.

“Our nation is at a crisis point,” the freshman Republican wrote in a letter on Thursday to Harris, advising her to seize control of the presidency.

Warning of the threat from China, an advancing Russia, skyrocketing inflation, the catastrophe at our southern border, and other issues besieging the United States on the global stage, Cawthorn argued that the nation must have strong, decisive leadership to confront these challenges.

“Joe Biden’s physical inability to lead is not a political talking point – it’s a demonstrable fact,” Cawthorn asserted to Fox News on Thursday. “He is not mentally fit to serve as President of the United States.”

Cawthorn made it clear that Biden is unfit as commander-in-chief following his horrific bungling of Afghanistan. Thousands of Americans and our allies are now stranded behind enemy lines and are at the mercy of barbaric Taliban terrorists. He also referenced the bombing at the Kabul airport that resulted in the most Americans killed in a single attack in Afghanistan in over a decade.

“I cannot sit idly by and watch the nation that I love spiral into death and devastation because our leader cannot discharge his duties,” he declared. “There is no time to wait, the time for action is now.”

His letter contended that Harris, as a member of the president’s inner circle and a former presidential primary debate opponent, would know better than just about anyone else Biden’s “current cognitive limitations.”

“As the person that works closest with the president, you are also the one who best knows the differences between the perception the West Wing wants to project and the ugly reality,” Cawthorn remarked.

The young firebrand’s letter follows a terrorist bombing outside Kabul’s airport that resulted in Marines, Army soldiers, and a Navy corpsman being killed. Scores of Afghans were killed or injured in the coordinated terrorist attack as well.

In a news briefing, Biden vowed to hunt down and kill the terrorists responsible, but many critics have no faith in that promise. The President’s response was extremely inadequate, disjointed, confusing and it screamed weakness. Virtually all of the United States’ allies have now distanced themselves from the nation and we are dangerously standing alone as Biden’s actions have not only emboldened our enemies, but have given terrorists a global presence once again.

“The Constitution provides us a remedy,” Cawthorn noted. “Section 4 of the 25th Amendment lays out the process by which the sitting president may be removed from office for inability to ‘discharge the powers and duties of his office.’”

“I recognize the enormity of this request, yet that enormity is dwarfed by the scale of the consequences that face our country,” he posited.

The letter admonishes Harris to “find your courage” and “do nothing more and nothing less than your duty,”

Numerous leading Republicans are now calling on Biden to resign over the Afghan crisis. There is also growing anger spreading across the nation over Biden’s botched Afghanistan disaster.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki responded by saying it was “not a day for politics” in the wake of the bloodbath in Afghanistan.

“We would expect that any American, whether they are elected or not, would stand with us in our commitment to going after and fighting and killing those terrorists wherever they live and to honoring the lives of service members, that’s what this day is for,” she disingenuously deflected during her daily news briefing.

Earlier in the week, Cawthorn had a heated, aggressive message for the Taliban and vowed to hunt them down and kill them for harming Americans.

He also had a message for President Biden: “Madame Speaker, the Taliban is emboldened today. They have found a new reason to cry ‘Death to America!’ That reason is Joe Biden. His foreign policy is not America first. It’s Taliban first. Mr. President, listen carefully and I’ll say it slowly just for you. No man left behind. That’s leadership.”
