‘Squad’ member Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) was videoed Sunday hypocritically dancing maskless with over a hundred people at a crowded indoor wedding in a COVID “orange” zone partying the night away.
The event took place in Wayne County, Michigan where COVID-19 cases are very high, Fox News reported. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended wearing masks and social distancing indoors in areas with this level of transmission.
Tlaib was caught maskless the same day she railed against Republican Senator Rand Paul for urging Americans to resist mask mandates and other draconian COVID protocols from the CDC. “It’s time for us to resist. They can’t arrest all of us… We don’t have to accept the mandates, lockdowns, and harmful policies of the petty tyrants and bureaucrats. We can simply say no, not again. No one should follow the CDC,” Paul proclaimed in a video.
Tlaib shared the video on her timeline and tweeted, “The KY Senator is throwing a tantrum as his state is being swallowed whole by this virus, again. People are getting sick and dying. 98 counties in Kentucky have a high incidence rate of COVID-19. He needs to put politics aside, and put people first. Start resisting the virus.”
Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib partied last night with 100+ maskless people. Dems want your kids stuck in masks at school ALL DAY while they party maskless with their friends. Do not comply! Don’t give 1 more inch. In 2022 we WILL defeat the tyrants! Chip in: https://t.co/FGvUL6PziQ pic.twitter.com/6lg71dtv2f

Tlaib’s flaunting of CDC guidelines also comes one day after former President Obama held his 60th birthday party on Martha’s Vineyard with hundreds of maskless guests under a massive tent. The guest list was originally 500+ but was slightly pared down and the event went on despite the allegations of hypocrisy and the ruling by the CDC.

The original video footage of the wedding and Tlaib dancing maskless was taken by Bassam Saleh, which is a band from Dearborn, Michigan. They were performing at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center. Tlaib can be seen dancing, holding hands, and hugging in the crowded affair.
It is unknown why the Michigan Democrat was at the event or how many were vaccinated in the crowd.
Tlaib has previously been photographed wearing two masks at once. She has ranted and raved about how deadly and contagious COVID is and that mandates must be reimplemented.
Michigan has seen a surge in cases over the last few weeks. The seven-day average jumped to 1,061 cases on Sunday compared with 672 cases on August 1 and 415 cases the previous week.
Starting on Wednesday, masks will be required for any individual entering a building on a University of Michigan campus whether they are vaccinated or not, according to the Detroit Free Press.
“I know that we’ve already become accustomed to not wearing a mask if vaccinated, but we want everyone in our community to be as safe as possible, especially as the highly infectious delta variant of SARS-CoV-2 continues to spread,” stated University President Mark Schlissel in a news release. “Breakthrough infections’ can occur in vaccinated persons, but while they rarely lead to serious consequences, they can spread to others.”
A music festival that took place in Michigan last month was deemed a super spreader event by officials who are now concerned about the return of mass gatherings due to the delta variant.
The Faster Horses Festival in Brooklyn, Michigan, which was a three-day country music festival that took place from July 16 to 18, was linked to 96 COVID cases. It did not require attendees to be vaccinated and one person wound up being hospitalized with COVID after the event.
Tlaib’s hypocrisy was noted on social media – “rules for thee, but not for me”:
Hey @RashidaTlaib you gonna explain why you’re out partying maskless in defiance of CDC guidelines or can you admit between this & Obama’s party that this is about controlling people? In 2022 you’ll have to deal with reps like me in the majority holding you accountable. Be ready.
