Does the Supreme Court of the United States matter to Joe Biden? Evidently not. In defiance of the recent ruling by SCOTUS concerning the end of eviction moratoriums for renters across the nation, the president may have lit a fire he can’t quell.
On Fox News’s “The Five” Wednesday night, commentator and former press secretary for President G.W. Bush, Dana Perino, opined that in addition to favorable polling numbers, Republicans have three things going for them in the forthcoming 2022 mid-term elections:
- Redistricting of congressional seats, which she says could give the Republicans a net gain of five or more.
- Recruiting, which she says House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) emphasizes in his strategy.
- Fundraising. Perino commented there will be no shortage of money for those seeking election or incumbents hoping to keep their seats.
But wait. There’s more.
Perino added a fourth setback for Democrats – and more ammunition for the right – that is sure to anger anyone who believes in private ownership. Namely, real estate.
“What the Biden administration did yesterday, to landlords all across the country, that own 23 million rental housing units, all across the country, [they] just found out they were going to get screwed again,” she asserted.
Perino went on to explain that those landlords can’t get the help the federal government handed out because the states don’t know how to distribute it. She added that if Republicans can find a way to appeal to those rental property owners -who have bills of their own to pay – they could harness that despair and turn it into votes.

On his Fox News show, “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” the host laid into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) among others in his assessment that what the Biden administration is trying to do is not only illegal, but also that “openly ignoring a Supreme Court ruling will mean the end of our current system, and that’s fine with Nancy Pelosi.”
Belligerent loudmouth and heroine of the far left, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) declared “I don’t buy that the CDC can’t extend the eviction moratorium,” in this intellectually vapid gem of a tweet:
I don’t buy that the CDC can’t extend the eviction moratorium – something it has already done in the past! Who is going to stop them? Who is going to penalize them? There is no official ruling saying that they cannot extend this moratorium. C’mon CDC – have a heart! Just do it!

Carlson then showed a clip of Biden’s recent presser, wherein the president unabashedly claimed that although the administration knows what they are doing is essentially criminal, some “scholars” believe a reinstatement of the eviction moratorium could be rammed through, apparently on intellectual grounds that trump the U.S. Constitution.

Another member of ‘The Five’ on Fox News, Greg Gutfeld, summed up the effects of this on the 2022 mid-terms optimistically:
“The party out of power always comes on strong.”
Whether Republicans in Congress learn to listen to their constituents and stop worrying about clever tweets or impressing the liberal media remains to be seen. Their historical inability to wield power when they have it is legendary, some might say.
Not surprisingly, it seems that even amid declining poll numbers, Biden is charging ahead without looking, like Forrest Gump on the Alabama gridiron.
Here’s the ball, Gump. Run!
