Fed-up with the left blowing the Jan. 6th riot way out of proportion, Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Tuesday ruthlessly mocked the first day of testimony in the Democrats’ extremely partisan Jan. 6th commission.

She even aimed mockery at some of the U.S. Capitol Police officers who’d chosen to testify, justifying the stunning attack by arguing that their testimony was nothing but “performance art.”

Indeed, one of the officers who testified, Harry Dunn, is a known far-leftist who defended the deadly BLM riots of 2020, despite the harm those riots had caused to other police officers across the country.

Look (archived copy here):

“Pelosi’s January 6th committee held its first hearing today, and because of her actions leading up to today, the whole thing turned into — in the eyes of many — nothing more than performance art,” Ingraham said.

But her intent wasn’t to dismiss the “criminal activity” of the Jan. 6th rioters; it was to stress that they were rioters just like the Black Lives Matter rioters of 2020, not “insurrectionists.”

“Now as this show has reiterated time and again, all criminal activity at the Capitol that day should be prosecuted and punished. There was certainly a lot of violence that day, but it was not a terrorist attack. It wasn’t 9/11. It wasn’t the worst thing that ever happened to America. It wasn’t an insurrection,” she said.

And so to hear the likes of Reps. Adam Schiff and Adam Kinzinger bawl their eyes out — all after they ignored, made excuses for, or even promoted the BLM riots of 2020 — was more than Ingraham could take.

“It is with that knowledge that we will unveil the Angle Awards for today’s best performances,” she said.

The first awards were doled out to Kinzinger and Schiff.

“First, for best use of tears and dramatic pauses in a leading role, we have a tie, and it’s between Congressmen Kinzinger and Schiff,” Ingraham said.

She then played a clip of the two sobbing over the Jan. 6th riot. Schiff is a known fabricator of mistruths who pulled a similar stunt during then-President Donald Trump’s first impeachment hearing in 2020.

Schiff’s rhetoric this time around was particularly galling.

“We’re so driven by bigotry and hate that we attack our fellow citizens as traitors if they’re born in another country or if they don’t look like us, and God help us,” he said.

“God save us from these third-rate theatrics,” Ingraham responded.

Indeed, Schiff spent years portraying then-President Donald Trump as a traitor. Meanwhile, the left has spent the past few months portraying not only the Jan. 6th rioters but even elected Republicans as traitors and as as domestic terrorists. But that’s apparently different.

Meanwhile, they’ve ignored the pleas from Sept. 11 victims upset over them comparing a riot to a terrorist attack that killed nearly 3,000 Americans.

Ingraham then showed a video of Capitol Police Sgt. Aquilino Gonell complaining about the rioters attacking him and his colleagues with a pen.

“Now for the award for best use of an exaggeration in a supporting role, the winner is Aquilino Gonell, who thinks the pen is literally mightier than the sword,” she said.

BLM rioters assaulted police across the country with bricks, rocks and glass bottles throughout 2020. But according to the left, the rioters had simply been expressing themselves.

Next, the Fox News host aimed her mockery at Dunn, who’d first claimed during the hearing that he isn’t much of a political person — but had then gone on to compare former President Donald Trump to a “hit man.”

“But it’s not about politics at all …,” Ingraham responded.

“The award for blatant use of partisan politics when facts fail — the Angle Award goes to Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn,” she added.

Dunn’s social media history shows that he’s a far-leftist through and through.

Here are more examples (in addition to the one up top) below:

Her final award went to Metropolitan Police officer Michael Fanone, who’d indignantly slammed the desk in front of him while complaining about the “indifference” that Republicans have allegedly shown to him and his colleagues.

“And for best performance in an action role, the winner is [Metropolitan Police Officer] Michael Fanone,” Ingraham said.

Dozens upon dozens upon dozens of police officers were injured during the BLM riots of 2020, but their injuries were ignored and dismissed by the institutional left.

Worse, the left paid money to bail the rioters out of jail.

There is one key difference though between the BLM riots of 2020 and the Jan. 6th riot at the U.S. Capitol.

The entire GOP condemned the Jan. 6th riot, whereas the entire Democrat Party defended the BLM riots.

Moreover, it’s not that Republicans have been “indifferent” to what Fanone and his colleagues experienced on the 6th — it’s that they’ve been irritated by the institutional left portraying them as the greatest victims in American history after having spent a year ignoring all of the victims of the BLM riots, including David Dorn.

Including all the business owners whose investments were destroyed overnight.

Including all the locals who were harassed and threatened.

Including all the poor people who lost access to nearby convenience stores.

Etc., etc., etc. …
