Black Lives Matter protesters in Wisconsin reportedly left a trail of destruction in residential neighborhoods and left one senior citizen in terror in her own apartment.

A 70-year-old woman was screaming and in tears in her bedroom as violent thugs targeted her Wauwatosa apartment complex, smashing home windows and throwing rocks even as some in the mob voiced their opposition to the violence.

The owner of the apartment complex told Townhall that the woman was the only resident who was home when the group of demonstrators made their way to the area.

“She was in her bedroom and her front window got smashed…she screamed, she started crying,” the landlord, identified as Jeff, said in video by Townhall’s Julio Rosas.

“She called me, by the time I got here…she couldn’t stop shaking,” the landlord recounted. “I ended up loading her up into my vehicle and driving her to her sister’s house in Grafton in hopes she would get some rest because I knew she wouldn’t get rest here overnight.”

The large crowd of protesters made their way from Milwaukee to Wauwatosa on Wednesday after the Milwaukee County District Attorney announced that Wauwatosa officer Joseph Mensah would not be charged in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Alvin Cole in January.

The demonstrators looted and threw rocks through windows of businesses on the path of their march.

The destruction then continued into neighborhoods where people’s homes were attacked.

Livestreamer Brendan Gutenschwager was also on the scene and provided video of homes being targeted.

Jeff, the landlord, estimated the damage done to the apartment complex which he has owned since 1999 to be about $10,000.

“I understand the right to protest, I’m completely behind that. But when you damage somebody’s residence, you’ve gone too far, it’s not a protest anymore,” he said.

One homeowner in the area came out to tell rioters to get off his property as his front yard was damaged by some riding motorbikes on his lawn.

Police fired tear gas and pepper balls at the crowd as the caravan tried to go around a police line.

Homeowner Jason Fritz told Townhall that he had told the crowd to stop trespassing on his property and that he worked hard for the home he was protecting.

“I got to have people here that look at me and mock me because I own a house having no idea the struggle I went through to get this house. How I haven’t had a vacation in 14 years so I could save up after my wife [had] a bankruptcy, adopting a child with special needs,” Fritz said.

Video and photos the next morning showed the aftermath of the damage wrought by the BLM crowd.

In a related incident, Daily Caller reporter Shelby Talcott revealed that police confronted members of the press and some were taken to jail.

Gutenschwager tweeted a video that allegedly showed him being “brutalized” by police.

Rosas posted an update as well as his interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham.

“This is unfortunately a disturbing trend that we’re seeing where it’s no longer just centralized in downtown metropolitan areas,” he said.
