Fauci says smallpox would still be around with today’s false info coming from ‘certain media’

Dr. Anthony Fauci is certain smallpox and polio would still be prevalent today if they had the same “false information” then that he sees today.

“If you look at the extraordinary historic success in eradicating smallpox and eliminating polio from most of the world, and we’re on the brink of eradicating polio, if we had the pushback for vaccines, the way we’re seeing on certain media, I don’t think it would have been possible at all to not only eradicate smallpox, we probably would still have smallpox and we probably would still have polio in this country,” Fauci said in response to a question from Jim Acosta, host of “CNN Newsroom.”

The head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases essentially doubled down on his assertion.

“If we had the kind of false information that’s being spread now, if we had that back decades ago, I would be certain that we’d still have polio in this country,” claimed the scientist that recently equated criticisms of him to “attacks on science.”

Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, who received around $2.6 million last year for COVID-related speeches and consulting, issued an advisory on “building a healthy information environment” on Thursday. He called health misinformation a “serious threat to public health,” writing that “it can cause confusion, sow distrust and undermine public health efforts, including our ongoing work to end the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The advisory is focused on many different groups including governments, journalists, and technology platforms. It specifically urges social media platforms to implement stronger monitoring of so-called “misinformation” and to “impose clear consequences” for accounts that promote misinformation. It also recommends the platforms redesign their algorithms “to avoid amplifying misinformation.”

On Friday President Joe Biden up his troubling rhetoric on censorship when he criticized Facebook for not doing enough to squash “dangerous” information about vaccinations and accused the social media platform of “killing people” with misinformation specifically about the COVID-19 jabs.

Apparently he feels the censorship program that Facebook has in place is not Orwellian enough as it already hides comments that dare to question the vaccine such as making comments like “If the vaccines are so useful, why do we still need to wear a mask or socially distance afterward?”

This type of censorship and suppression of any dissent is partly why over half of those that have not received jab say they will definitely not take it. This same population is what the leftists seem to like to call “vaccine-hesitant” as if implying that at some point they will overcome the hesitancy … with a little nudge.

Earlier this month, Fauci told this vaccine-free population they should “get over it.”

“Get over it. Get over this political statement. Just get over it and try to save the lives of yourself and your family.” he said, ignoring the fact that the vast majority of unvaccinated people would not die if infected with COVID-19.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky warned on Thursday that COVID-19 is “becoming a pandemic of the unvaccinated.”

“If you are not vaccinated, you remain at risk,” Wakensky added citing that 97% of those entering the hospital due to COVID had not chosen to get vaccinated.
