Democrats are still terrified of Donald Trump and the prospect of another Trump presidential run

Op-ed views and opinions expressed are solely those of the author.

For four years, Democrats tried to take down President Trump. They never gave a legitimate reason why they hated him so much. They just wanted him gone and vowed to do anything to get rid of him. For those outside the “bubble of hatred,” the reasons were glaringly obvious. President Trump represented everything the modern-day Democrats loath, including a love of  G-d, country, the Constitution, and draining the Washington swamp. While Trump is no longer president, Democrats are still obsessed with him and are terrified of the prospect of another possible Trump presidency.

From his first day in office (even before that), Democrats were scared and were determined to remove him. They accused him of Russia collusion, which failed miserably. They accused him of violating the never-before-heard-of “Emoluments Clause,” which went nowhere. They accused him of violating campaign finance laws, which was a bust. They accused him of improperly paying “hush money” to various women, which was unsuccessful. They impeached him over a perfectly legal telephone call with the president of Ukraine, after which he was acquitted in the Senate. They subsequently impeached him a second time over the tragic incidents at the capital. This, also, rightfully failed.

There was no legitimate reason for Democrats to consistently, intentionally, and so aggressively try to remove President Trump during his presidency. They were looking for grounds to remove him, and consistently failed in that regard. In light of their  many failures, Democrats turned to “Plan B,” an election stained with voting irregularities and marred by allegations of fraud/impropriety, to finally “defeat” President Trump.

The left’s obsession with removing Trump at any cost was directly related to Trump’s America-first policies and his promise to “drain the swamp,” both of which served to derail the left’s plans for America. They hated Trump because he genuinely loved America and put Americans first. He was an outsider with no political background, and was committed to “cleaning up” Washington D.C. In other words, he was a direct threat to the “Washington Establishment.”

As a result, Democrats made every effort to prevent Trump from ever running for office again. As reported by The Hill, quoting Democratic strategist Joel Payne:

“I think that was the entire point. To make sure that Trump was accountable for Jan. 6 and to ban him from running for public office. The impeachment managers were pretty clear about that case. Republicans decided it was more valuable to them to have Donald Trump be a viable candidate for public office again.

“I don’t think there is anything further that Democrats can do. But honestly it’s less about Democrats and it’s more about Republicans. The conscientious Republican objectors had their moment if they wanted to sweep Trump out of public life and they decided not to.”

Despite all of their efforts, Democrats have failed miserably. As a matter of fact, although Democrats control the White House and Congress, and while various social media giants have blocked Trump on their platforms, Trump has been increasingly active/vocal, leads the Republican Party, and is seriously considering another run for office.

While Trump has not made any official announcement regarding his plans for 2024, his influence and clout with the Republican Party cannot be questioned. As reported by The Hill, citing GOP strategist Doug Heye, the GOP is “Trump’s party, with some divisions.” Trump will also be holding his signature rallies around the country and holding fundraisers. Also, as one Trump ally stated, Trump will be “’aggressively on the playing field’ stumping for GOP candidates in the coming months ahead of 2022.”

This terrifies the left. The man who they tried so desperately hard to “remove” and to “invalidate” is, not only still relevant, but leading the Republican Party, highly influential, and energized to get back in the game. Democrats realize that Trump is the leader of the Republican Party and that his influence is unmatched. For example, they saw what happened with Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), who was recently removed from her leadership position after she consistently criticized Trump’s claims regarding the 2020 election. Trump likely played a major role in the decision to remove her. Additionally, in Texas, Republican Susan Wright advanced to a runoff election to fill a U.S. House of Representatives vacancy after Trump endorsed her.

Democrats fear Trump because he understands their radical plans for America, and is willing to fight like hell to stop them. He did this when he was president and would undoubtedly do this again if he served another term. Trump opposes everything the radical-left stands for, which revolves around power and control. For example, Democrats want to control education, limit the First Amendment, limit religion, change the nation’s election laws, weaken/reform the nation’s police departments, erode the Second Amendment, eliminate/revise the filibuster, control/pack the judiciary/courts, increase taxes, and weaken the nation’s borders.

Trump, unlike other Republicans who merely “talk the talk,” poses a real threat to the Democrats, their plans, and to the deep state. Not only is he willing to stand up against their radical agenda, but he also has the power, finances, influence, and support of many congressional Republicans and millions of people throughout the nation who continue to support him and his agenda .

No wonder Democrats fear him so much.
