Fox News host Tucker Carlson blasted “woke” leftists pushing an agenda of “identity politics” that reduces all Americans to “their DNA” and will ultimately result in racial extremism and internal conflict.
In his opening monologue on Wednesday, Carlson began by noting that one of President Joe Biden’s first official acts in office was to sign an executive order mandating the advancement of “racial equity” throughout government.
“Whatever it is, equity is ambitious and it will be everywhere — but we’re not allowed to know what it is,” he said.
Carlson went on to say that his program has focused on the equity issue since Biden took office in order to understand it better, but that he has come to conclude equity is not the same thing as “equality.”

The host pointed to the administration’s refusal to back Asian Americans who have claimed in federal lawsuits supported by the Trump administration that they were being discriminated against by Ivy League schools.
“We used to call that kind of behavior ‘racism’” and “we had laws against it,” Carlson said. “Now we call it ‘equity’ and we have laws demanding it. It turns out that racism and equity are pretty much the same thing.”
To illustrate that such views are not limited to the Biden administration, the Fox News host went on to report that United Airlines recently announced that half of the 5,000 pilots it will train over the next decade will be women and persons of color, placing more of an emphasis on physical and racial characteristics rather than hiring the most competent pilot candidates.
“United Airlines is mandating affirmative action quotas in its flight schools,” said Carlson, “and that’s a big change for the country.”
“When Coca-Cola embraces some equity scheme you understand why they’re doing it. They’re hoping that by hiring more black executives no one will ask, ‘Just how many black Americans have gotten diabetes drinking Coke?’ Carlson observed, adding that, for the beverage giant, “equity is just a PR move.”
But airline pilots have a far greater responsibility in that they must be competent in order to safely transport passengers around the country and the world, he said.
“People die if you screw up,” said Carlson, noting that flying is inherently “high-risk” no matter how experienced a pilot is.
“How will racial and gender quotas make United Airlines safe? That’s the only question that matters,” he added.
Later, Carlson said that the political and social elite who are pushing equity programs don’t fly commercial and thus are not concerned about any negative safety issues that arise from focusing on race- and gender-based hiring.
“What are we watching here, exactly?” Carlson asked. “It’s deluded, but it’s also pretty clearly a racial attack. Only diseased people think like this.”
The host then asked rhetorically what reactions would be if the same standards were applied to other areas of American society such as professional sports leagues, many of which are dominated by black male athletes even though they are a small percentage of the population.
“How would we respond to that? We would understand immediately — and we would say so — that that is a racist policy,” he said.
Predicting that someday, based on the trend of racial and gender politics, more Americans will begin to notice those inequities throughout society, Carlson said that will lead to radicalization among races and violence.
“That’s the whole problem with this … diseased way of thinking. You do not want to live in a completely racialized country where a person’s genetics are the most important thing about them, where you are reduced to your DNA, dehumanized,” he said.
“That’s exactly the society they’re creating,” he went on. “And what’s the result of what they’re doing? Every action provokes a reaction. That’s the most basic principle in physics. When you attack people for qualities they can’t control, over time you will make them radical.
“You’ve gotta wonder if it’s ever occurred to the morons pushing this equity garbage that everyone on earth has an identity. If you make identity politics mandatory, and they have, how long until you get white identity politics?” Carlson asked. “Ever consider that you reckless fools?”
Carlson went on to wonder aloud “how long” before there was “no identity at all” and that the country would be reduced to “warring tribes fighting each other for the spoils.”
“Does anyone want to raise children in a society like that?” he asked. “Only the racists want that.”
