For the first time in my experience of this republic, the president has declined to deliver a State of the Union Address. Someone has to do it, so here goes.
The most serious crisis currently facing our nation is that, in the words of economist Thomas Sowell, too many voters have failed to see Joe Biden for what he is—”not only a phony but an incompetent one.” So long as a cognitively challenged political puppet sits in the Oval Office, America is on the road to becoming an authoritarian socialist nation run by unaccountable government bureaucrats.
The irony is that we are coming off of four years with a strong president. Donald Trump implemented a strategic series of policies that were successful in reversing the destructive, leftist agenda of the Obama administration. Trump’s actions restored America’s economy, lowered unemployment, improved the economic conditions of minorities, took us out of the phony Paris Accord, repudiated the counter-productive Iran agreement, stood up to China’s expansionist foreign policy and one-sided economic practices, enhanced peace in the Middle East, stabilized conditions on the southern border, rebuilt the military, and ended the influence of critical race theory in government agencies.
In a mere two months, Joe Biden’s tyrannical executive orders have reversed the benefits of Trump’s policies and set us on a course of economic and social ruin.
Under Biden’s feeble presidency, every one of our revered institutions is under attack. He is raising taxes, re-instituting critical race theory, burdening the economy with the unreasonable demands of the Paris Accord, and laying down before the demands of Iran and China. The strong military bequeathed by Trump is being undermined by inappropriate social re-engineering. Biden is opening the border to illegal aliens—many of whom are criminals, terrorists, and people infected with COVID. The latest lie from the Democrats is that Trump is to blame for the border crisis. If Biden had continued Trump’s system, we would not have a problem. The crisis exists because Biden changed the system. His refusal to allow press access to conditions on the border refutes his phony claims of transparency.
Biden is overseeing massive sociological damage. Meritocracy and equality, bulwarks of our society, are being replaced with diversity and equity. We are witness to an anti-white inquisition that violates the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and that—contrary to common sense—has the support of large segments of the white majority. “There is no room in our classrooms for things like critical race theory,” said Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. “Teaching kids to hate their country and to hate each other is not worth one red cent of taxpayer money.”
Should we be proud of our heritage or should we join the Left in condemning it? Obama hates America. Biden is nothing less than Obama 2.0. His policies represent the replacement of meritocracy with identity politics, capitalism with Marxism and the Green New Deal, and competence with senility. Biden’s biggest lie to date is his statement, “I’ve been hired to solve problems, not create division.” Our country has not been this divided since the Civil War. Biden’s plea for unity is in complete opposition to his actions. His emphasis on the vicious lie known as systemic racism is a perfect example of his attempts to divide the country. Our universities are hosting separate graduation ceremonies based on race, income level, and ethnicities. This would have been unthinkable thirty years ago. What Biden should have said is, “I am the standard bearer for Washington corruption.”
If the Democrats are not stopped in the 2022 and 2024 elections, the two-party system will come to an end and the nation will be run by a left-wing oligarchy. The system of free elections was subverted in 2020 with abuses engineered by the Democratic Party. Efforts are in the works—HR1—to perpetuate those abuses. Kamala Harris, a compliant leftist who bombed out in the primary, was inserted as VP in anticipation that Biden will not be able to continue for a full term. How have we landed in this mess? Thomas Sowell gives us the answer: “The utter gullibility of the public that disregards all hard facts. If everyone knew what all the facts are, you’d have an entirely different set of people elected.” Referring to the uninformed, Sowell says, “…their most patriotic act would be to stay home on election day rather than vote on the basis of their whims or their emotions.” The price of an ignorant electorate is the loss of our constitutionally-protected freedoms.
The loss of freedom, says Sowell, happens in small ways. “We can’t have a light bulb that we want in our own home, we can’t flush the toilet with the kind of toilet we want, we can’t take a shower with the kind of shower head we want.” There are people in our government who “think they know better and they ought to be telling us what to do. Those people are the danger. And if you don’t see that,” says Sowell, “then I’m not sure what the future will be like.”
The future is already on display. In 2020, our cities and towns were all but destroyed by violent mobs hiding behind “social justice.” Democratic Party mayors and governors abdicated their responsibility to preserve order and, in some cases, supported the rioters, looters, and arsonists. Private citizens were deprived of their right to defend their homes and businesses from the violent mobs. A new wave of public prosecutors is refusing to bring criminals to justice. Biden’s DOJ, despite an oath to defend the Constitution, wants to give police the right to enter your home without a warrant in order to confiscate your private property. Using COVID as an excuse, we have been told when we can leave our homes, when we can go to work, and when we can socialize with our families and friends. Free speech is being replaced with the thought police, political correctness, and the cancel culture—all of it enforced by the woke crowd.
The media could stabilize the political situation but, instead, their unquestioning support for Democratic Party positions is comparable to Pravda. Media’s coverage of Biden’s press conference, wrote Joe Concha in The Hill, “centered on the premise that President Biden is in essence the second coming of George Washington.” Without an independent media, we have little hope. “There is a point of no return,” Thomas Sowell warned. “I suspect that’s where we’re going to be taken to. When I see people talking about abolishing the police force … insanity.”
