Megyn Kelly dismantles Fauci fantasy in powerful rebuke: ‘Not sure who misled you on this…’

Podcaster and former Fox News host Megyn Kelly rebuked Dr. Anthony Fauci after he said he wasn’t sure when it would be safe during the lingering COVID-19 pandemic to hold indoor weddings.

The Biden administration’s chief medical adviser and the country’s lead immunologist was responding to a question from NBC News’s Chuck Todd, who asked, “We know President Biden said of backyard gatherings — I’ve got a staffer or two that wants this question asked of you, and I’m sure they’re not alone, which is when can people plan an indoor wedding?”

“You know, that’s a good question,” Fauci began. “And I think that’s going to be within a reasonable period of time. You notice —“

“This calendar year?” Todd interjected.

“What time of the year? You know, I, I can’t give you that exact date because it’s going to absolutely depend — and this gets back to our conversation a minute or two ago — it’s going to depend on the level of infection in community,” Fauci responded.

“If we plateau and stay at 60,000 a day and go up with a peak, I mean, you can make no prediction. If we keep going down and get to a very, very low level when we’re there and we have a good proportion of the people vaccinated, I think you’re going to see weddings in the normal way that we’ve seen and within a reasonable period of time,” he continued. “But there’s always the caveat that it’s not going to happen if all of a sudden you have a surge.”

Kelly responded on Twitter: “Not sure who misled you on this, sir, but you don’t control us.”

For his part, Fauci went on to talk about the rapid development and deployment of COVID vaccines, without mentioning former President Donald Trump’s rapid development program, “Operation Warp Speed.”

“If you want to look, Chuck, at the success story in this terrible year, it has been the extraordinary, unprecedented advance with the vaccine — where, you know, in January of 2020 we started the process and 11 months later, we had a highly efficacious vaccine going into the arms of individuals, which is going to be the answer to this together with public health measures,” said Fauci, who went on to praise President Joe Biden: “What the president has done — is he’s done a number of things — but two major things is he’s gotten us a much larger supply of vaccine.”

In fact, last spring as Operation Warp Speed was ramping up, the Trump administration ordered hundreds of millions of doses of vaccines from various pharmaceutical companies, gambling that one or more of them would be successful.

In a recent episode of his Sunday Fox News show “Life, Liberty, and Levin,” conservative pundit and author Mark Levin cited a little-publicized Government Accountability Office report published in February detailing the Trump administration’s gargantuan effort to get vaccines ordered and produced in record time.

“The Trump administration contracted for 100 million doses from Pfizer, 100 million doses from Moderna, 100 million doses from Johnson and Johnson, 300 million doses from AstraZeneca, 100 million doses from Novavax, and another 100 million doses from GlaxoSmithKline, in other words, a total of 800 million doses, before any vaccine had been developed, before any vaccine had been approved — 800 million doses, which would be enough for 400 million people,” he said.

“They did this during the summer, last summer. So they weren’t even sure which vaccine would work, but what the Trump administration did, never done in American history before: rather than bet on one or two, it helped subsidize and capitalize all of them,” he continued, adding that companies were limited in their ability to produce so many vaccines initially and had to combine resources and expand manufacturing to keep up.
