If CNN’s full-on vendetta against President Donald Trump for four long years didn’t convince you that the network is more of an extension of the Democratic Party than a news organization, the effort to promote Joe Biden will surely do the trick.
Not only is CNN shamelessly unconcerned about the stark contrast in how they treat the outgoing president versus the incoming president, but the cable network also seems to be relishing in the opportunity to draw a distinction in its coverage.
But even here, CNN’s political director David Chalian went overboard in commenting on a staged COVID-19 memorial attended by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, saying the 400 lights around the Lincoln Memorial’s reflecting pool were like “extensions of Joe Biden’s arms embracing America.”
The lights were to honor the 400,000 people in the U.S. who have died from COVID-19, as the event suggests symbolism will be a mainstay in a Biden administration.
Chalian was gushing over Biden so badly, Bernard Goldberg may be prompted to do a follow up on his bestselling book, A Slobbering Love Affair, which detailed the torrid romance between Barack Obama and the mainstream media.
“It was a moment where the new president came to town and sort of convened the country in this moment of remembrance, outstretching his arms,” Chalian said of the memorial.
“And contrast that with the video you saw of a disgraced president on his way out at the lowest point of his presidency, at the very end here, by himself, fighting for his political movement to live on,” he continued, attacking Trump to the very end. “And not even necessarily promising that he’s gonna be leading that movement, you noted, in his remarks tonight — I just think that sort of isolated moment of Donald Trump inside the White House vs. Joe Biden on the National Mall with an embrace of the country in this dark time on the eve of his becoming the 46th president. You couldn’t get a stronger contrast.”
With many Americans having little interest in a Biden presidency, other than how much damage he might do in being led by the radical left, the media is desperate to stir some enthusiasm for their candidate.
Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume responded to Chalian’s oratory with just two words: “Oh dear.”
Which was much kinder than an assessment from conservative journalist Ian Miles Cheong:
Biden groping America with colossal outstretched arms is not the visual I needed.

Here’s a sampling of other responses to the story from heavy-handed Twitter:
“Trump supporters are a cult.”
“The lights on the mall are like Joe Biden’s arms hugging the country.”

Biden has received more praise from the media for some lights by water than Trump received for 4 middle east peace treaties. Let that sink in.

Sir, his name is Joe — not Jesus. Pack it up.
This seriously is so weird.

My God, this is nauseating already. Four years of this is going to be intolerable.

This is absolute insanity.
Enough of the celebrity of politicians. That’s what got us in the place we are in now.

What the heck? This is what we’re in for, I guess. Basement Man suddenly and utterly beloved… before he is lost to us and Kamala tearfully takes up his sacred mantle, I suppose.
