‘End of our Republic’: Gutfeld talks stakes of Ga Sen race, warns Left could control Congress, WH, media and more

Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld shared a sobering prediction about what the nation will be facing if Democrats manage to take over the U.S. Senate in the coming administration.

The co-host of The Five warned on Thursday of the importance of the Senate runoff elections in Georgia set for January, predicting that if Democrats secure the victory, they will then control all of Congress, the White House – if Joe Biden is declared the winner of the presidential race – and even media and technology platforms. The scenario would be the “end of our Republic” he added.

Gutfeld raised the alarm on The Five Thursday as his colleagues discussed a rally in Atlanta, Georgia the day before Trump campaign lawyer Lin Wood, along with attorney Sidney Powell, urged Republicans to withhold their votes from incumbent Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler.

The two are headed to the Jan. 5 runoffs in a tight race against Democratic challengers Jon Ossoff and the Rev. Raphael Warnock. But in the state that President Trump narrowly lost to Democrat Joe Biden, Wood and Powell have pressed GOP voters not to support the incumbents unless they fight for the president to overturn the November election results in Georgia.

Republicans have called out the dangerous rhetoric, warning that the loss of the races will mean Democrats can take over control of the Senate. The president is set to head out to the Peach State on Saturday where he will campaign for the GOP senators.

“Don’t you think with Lin Wood and Sidney Powell, shouldn’t they stand down?” Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera asked his co-hosts on The Five Thursday. “They are not helping the runoff when they are undermining the electoral process.”

“I’m more interested in talking about how important this election is,” Gutfeld responded instead, seeming to bypass the question.

“Because under Trump, for four years, the Democrats reported every single event, everyday events as apocalyptic.  If you turned on CNN, Carl Bernstein was on every day, if a squirrel farted he would say it was worse than Watergate,” he added. “Everything was worse than Watergate, so now it’s our turn.”

Gutfeld went on to paint a nightmarish picture for anyone who does not want to see Democrats in control of the nation.

“If the Democrats get control of the Senate under the current state of their Party, it is over for this country. It is the end of our Republic,” he said.

“You cannot hand the keys to this country to a teenager drunk on idiocy, because if the Democrats get the Senate and have the House and the Oval Office, then so does the tech platforms, the media, and academia,” he warned.

“They are all together and they all support the same thing: elimination of speech, violent upheaval, cancel culture, destruction of public property, confiscation through taxation,” he said, adding, “If these people are in charge, it’s nice knowing you, America.”

Winning the Georgia runoffs will give Democrats and Republicans 50 seats each in the Senate. If needed, the tiebreaker vote would have to be cast by the vice president, and in a potential Biden administration, that would fall for Kamala Harris.

“What I’m saying is you got to go, you got to vote,” Gutfeld urged Republicans. “Stay away from the sideshows because this is as important as the election a month ago.”

Rivera asked co-host Pete Hegseth if he thought that “anyone who is thinking of not voting to protest the flaws in the electoral process are hurting themselves and their party and the future of the country?”

“Everything Greg was saying is correct,” Hegseth said.

“Osoff and Warnock are absolute radicals, they hate this country and its systems. They have to be defeated,” he said, adding that “Republicans better focus.”
