The animosity against Lin Wood and Sidney Powell, two attorneys waging President Donald Trump’s voter fraud battle, appears to be growing by leaps and bounds.
So much so, in fact, that Sen. Ted Cruz of all people dropped a stunning tweet Thursday afternoon in which he described Wood as a “clown.”
Responding in a video that showed Wood telling Georgia voters to not vote for incumbent Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler in January, Cruz accused Wood of being a “clown” who “is trying to mislead the people of Georgia.”

Cruz would follow up with another tweet alluding to earlier reports of Wood’s voting record:

That was a stunning attack on one of the most legendary conservative lawyers of this day and age — a man who successfully defended Richard Jewell and former Covington Catholic high school student Nick Sandmann, and who’s now defending Kyle Rittenhouse.
Yet Cruz wasn’t alone in his animosity toward Wood. Even former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a conservative powerhouse with bona-fide GOP credentials a mile long, has felt compelled to take aim at him — and Sidney Powell.
Look what he tweeted a couple of hours before Cruz:
Lin Wood and Sidney Powell are totally destructive. Every Georgia conservative who cares about America MUST vote in the runoff. Their dont vote strategy will cripple America

But there’s more.
Longtime conservative commentator Ann Coulter, conservative radio show host Erick Erickson, pro-Trump GOP strategist Caleb Hull, GOP operative Arthur Schwartz and newly elected Rep.-elect Darrell Issa have all issued warnings about Wood.

Trump’s camp is against Lin Wood. He is doing damage to their reputation, hijacking the narrative, grifting for attention, and trying to destroy the Georgia election.

Lin Wood is a democrat who has donated to democrats including Barack Obama and Sen. Perdue’s 2014 opponent.

Undergirding their animosity toward Wood (and Sidney Powell) is the duo’s growing calls for Republicans to boycott the pivotal, upcoming Senate race in Georgia.
If the president fails in his challenges of the 2020 presidential election, and Republicans lose the Senate race in Georgia, then Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden will be elected president with full, unequivocal power, and this could engender devastating consequences for all Americans:
- The implementation of the Green New Deal.
- The national adoption of California’s catastrophic AB5 bill.
- The packing of the Supreme Court.
- The elimination of the filibuster.
- The passing of Medicare-for-All.
- The mandating of transgender bathrooms/locker rooms.
- The expansion of censorship.
- Etc.
And so because of all that’s at stake, Wood and Powell have become targets of growing ire among conservatives — not Democrats.
Democrats have instead begun championing the two and urging all Republicans to abide by their demands for the Georgia election.
Case in point:

Meanwhile, a report emerged this week that Wood has been a longtime Democrat voter.

Another report emerged suggesting he has certain issues…
“Back in September three former law partners sued Wood for fees tied to the dissolution of the partnership. They claim they had to quit because he’d essentially lost his mind,” Talking Points Memo, a left-wing site, reported Wednesday.
“In the course of their filings they list a range of behavior from abusive to unstable and erratic all the way to perhaps even delusional. … They claim that Wood committed ‘assault and battery’ on one of the former partners who came to do a welfare check on him back in late 2019, which was when the erratic behavior began.”
The report continues, “There are various other times when he summoned them to his residence in the middle of the night or called and texted in the early hours of the morning. At other times he claimed he was disciplining his legal partners ‘at the discretion of Almighty God.’ In one monologue conference call he allegedly referred to himself as ‘the Almighty.'”
Keep in mind these are just allegations.
