Bernie Kerik calls for DOJ to squash BLM after more cop shootings: ‘This is an anti-government movement’

Politicians condemning Black Lives Matter and Antifa isn’t enough, according to former New York Police Department commissioner Bernie Kerik. It’s time for the Justice Department to intervene and “put an end” to them once and for all.

Speaking on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends Weekend” this Sunday morning, only hours after two California police deputies were ambushed and shot in the head, Kerik said that there’s no more denying the extremism of the BLM and Antifa movements.

“Look, this is reminiscent of what happened back in the 70s and 80s with the Black Liberation Army, the Black Panther Party. Black Lives Matter is an extenuation of that,” he said.

“Black Lives Matter was inspired by the BLA, by Assata Shakur. Black Lives Matter has people working for them that were a part of that movement back in the 70s and 80s that was responsible for assassinating almost two dozen cops over a 10-year period.”

Assata Shakur is a convicted cop killer and terrorist who’s been openly embraced by the modern Democrat Party and its ostensible street offshoots, including BLM and Antifa.

Kerik added, “The bottom line is this has to stop. The Justice Department has to go after Black Lives Matter, after Antifa, and put an end to this.

He was then asked to comment on BLM and Antifa extremists being allowed to protest (or, rather, RIOT) freely in Democrat-controlled metropolitans like New York City.

In fact, around the same time that the two deputies were shot in California, BLM extremists were busy commandeering a major bridge in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City and terrorizing motorists and police officers.

“All of them, all of them, the mayor, the governor, the city council, every one of them are responsible for allowing this stuff to happen. Blocking vehicular traffic, pedestrian traffic is a crime. Resisting arrest is a crime. Obstructing justice is a crime. Assault on cops is a crime. Every single person on that bridge should have been arrested, period,” Kerik declared.

“We arrested 700 people on the Brooklyn Bridge one time. Seven hundred were arrested on the Brooklyn Bridge for getting on there when they weren’t supposed to be. The bottom line is it can be done if you have the leadership that’s going to do it, and you don’t have that in the mayor, the governor, and the City Council in New York City.”

Oftentimes the extremists are arrested but then subsequently released without bail or sometimes even charges by limp-wristed Democrat prosecutors appointed to their posts by BLM-supporting Democrat leaders like NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Another part of the problem, as noted by “Fox & Friends Weekend” host Pete Hegseth, is that BLM has become mainstreamed, to the point that Democrat leaders are erecting murals in its honor, while NBA teams are writing it on their basketball courts.

According to Kerik, the only way to resolve this aspect of the problem is to try to educate the “stupid,” “ignorant,” and brainwashed public.

“I think you have to educate the American public, because they’re stupid. … I ride through communities in New Jersey, and I see these signs in people’s windows, Black Lives Matter. They have no conception of what the organization stands for,” he said.

“They have no conception of who the leaders are, how they were inspired, what they believe. They have no idea, so the bottom line is you have to educate the American public on what reality is.”

That’s easier said than done thanks to congressional Democrats and their media allies, both of whom jump through hoops to defend and promote both BLM and Antifa.

The good news is that the public is slowly but surely waking up, despite the onslaught of endless propaganda constantly thrust in their faces from the organized left:

Kerik continued his remarks by noting that it’s important that the mainstream figures who adopt BLM’s messaging — particularly sports athletes — be called out.

“You have to call out these million-dollar sports figures that are supporting Black Lives Matter. It’s not about black lives. They’re not concerned about black lives,” he said.

“Because if they really were, they’d be protesting … where there’s the systemic slaughter of black lives on a daily basis by other blacks. Nobody cares about this. This is an anti-government, anti-police, Marxist movement that people are supporting because they’re ignorant.”

Fact-check: TRUE.

The discussion concluded with Kerik addressing remarks made by Mark McCloskey earlier that morning about how Democrat-led governments have been tolerating and encouraging the extremists and their violent behavior.

As an example, McCloskey had cited St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner, the Democrat official who’s currently prosecuting him and his wife for defending their property from violent extremists but has done nothing to go after the extremists themselves.

Responding to McCloskey’s points, Kerik said, “Mark McClosky is absolutely right. Kim Gardner, the prosecutor there, is a Marxist. Kim Gardner was put in office by Soros. Kim Gardner is the same one that went after a Republican governor, Eric Greitens, destroyed his career, and her investigator wound up being charged in a seven count indictment for wrongfully going after him and targeting him.”

The bottom line is this is all about a revolution, and you have prosecutors unfortunately out there that are behind it.

Democrat prosecutors, to be exact …
