Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
My normal routine is to arise at four every morning. I go outside to a park bench and reflect on what I am going to that day. A quiet and meditative period. I am alone and able to listen to God.
Recently, on one of these mornings, I saw a police car come by and stop. The officer got out of his car and quietly walked over to me. As he was walking I became somewhat curious, I wondered what was up. I had learned long ago, when approached by the police to be respectful.
Interestingly, the office asked me; Was I Okay? I replied, I was, and he said, Sorry to bother you sir. Have a nice day. I reflected on this and said to myself, Unusual, but wasn’t that nice. I have to admit that this interaction was typical of my life experiences with police officers.
Now my former professors would tell me, because I am white, I am treated well. It is my white privilege that gets me my courteous treatment. Instead, I have always believed it was my father, mother and older brother teaching me to be respectful to all authority figures.
Lately, I have been hearing about defunding the police. I have to say, it didn’t make sense to me. While most people are law abiding, enough aren’t, and as citizens we need police protection. Someone has to maintain order or soon the nefarious people will ruin our lives.
I have been hearing and reading our police are out of control and need to be defunded. My reasoning and life experiences didn’t agree. Sure my professors told me this as well, when I was getting my Doctorate degree. I just couldn’t buy the story and politely kept my opinions to myself.
This past week, I saw a Gallop Poll that said well over eighty percent either wanted the same police or more! Wow, this doesn’t match the current rhetoric in our national media or in our universities.
Amazingly, people want more police than those who wants less. So here we have it, our national media, professors and some political authorities are convinced we want much less police, while the facts speak differently.
Since the Black Lives Movement has started and demanded less police, crime and violence has starkly risen. In New York City, crime is at levels not seen in decades. Milwaukee has seen an increase that is more than doubled. Cities are burning and being looted. Making we wonder, How did people not know this would happen when you reduced police presence?
The stark reality, black men are dying at a significantly higher number than any time in the past, since the start of these protests. Black children are being murdered in broad daylight. Kids are being put to bed in bathtubs, so they don’t get hit by stray bullets. Since the recent round of protests, many have died needlessly. Yet our national media hasn’t reported these results.
The protests haven’t reduced violence against black Americans. It has accelerated! In this same Gallup Poll, I read that eighty-one percent of black Americans want more or the same amount of police presence. Similar to all the other ethnic groups.
So why the dichotomy. Well, America is being hustled; and the media and professors have bought into the hustle. They have bought it hook, line and sinker. Gobbled it up and are caught up in the hustle.
The group that started pushing this defund the police movement, the Black Lives Matter Foundation is run by anarchists, Marxists and a convicted felon. In effect they have appropriated a well-intended movement and turned into their own agenda.
They have a dark money organization called A Thousand Currents that provides the funding for the Black Lives Matter Foundation. One of the significant leaders of the A Thousand Currents is a slick talking con, who is a convicted terrorist.
Her name is Susan Rosenberg. In the seventies and eighties, she was a leading underground terrorist that was involved in eleven felonies. All designed to disrupt our society. She was the get-away driver in the famous Brink Heist, in which two police officers were killed. While hiding underground in 1984, she was finally caught driving a van that had enough explosives to blow up buildings within a quarter of a mile.
She was arrested and put in jail for fifty-eight years. Only to be pardoned by President Clinton in 2001. And now she has resurfaced, and it is not a coincidence that anarchy has broken out. She is a professional anarchist and doing what she is paid to do.
You see the hustle is to create mayhem in America and destabilize our cities and country. All hidden behind a well-intended movement to have black Americans treated better by the police.
It is a shame that the left and the media have fallen for the hustle. It has smeared an effort for our country to get better at race relations.
Sure there are police officers that over step their bounds. They don’t represent the vast majority of police officers, just a small percent. Similar to other walks of life.
I along with eighty-one percent of all Americans support the police. We are being hustled, to eliminate our police authorities to make it easier for terrorists and convicted felons to do what they do, cause mayhem and destroy that which is good.
In Romans 13:1, the Apostle Paul tells us that our necessary authorities are ordained by God. We need to respect our police and help them get better. Listening to professional con artists is not what we should be doing.
