US Postal worker accused of tossing campaign mailers in dumpster

Campaign mailers for a Texas GOP congressional candidate allegedly wound up in the garbage rather than in potential constituents’ mailboxes.

Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls, who is running for the House seat in the state’s 22nd congressional district in the Houston area, tweeted out a video that purports to show, according to him, a U.S. Post Office employee engaging in campaign interference by throwing away fliers.

“A US Postal worker was just caught on video throwing a stack of my campaign mailers in a dumpster. Some patriots nearby heard a noise when she tossed them in & went to investigate. They found a stack of them and called me. No wonder people are skeptical of mail in voting,” the sheriff declared.

He also tweeted out a picture of what apparently was found in the dumpster.

The pro-Trump sheriff, who is also a veteran of the U.S. Army with two Bronze Stars, pointed out that this form of alleged political sabotage is particularly detrimental to his bid for higher office. “We’re running a grassroots campaign and don’t have money for TV. I rely on mailers to reach voters and it’s sad to see a federal employee interfering with that.”

Postal Service employees who are found guilty of tampering with the mail in any way can face jail time and monetary penalties under federal law.

Sheriff Nehls makes a good point about mail-in-voting fraud. With voter rolls being out of date, people dying or moving, invalid registrations under our primitive system, the potential for mailbox theft, automatic voter registration at the DMV, and whatnot, handing out ballots or ballot applications like Halloween candy with no chain of custody is a particularly ill-advised idea.

This incident suggests that the flip side can also be dangerous to our democracy. That is, postal workers who might make mail-in ballots from Republican-leaning areas disappear.

Democrats and allied social justice advocates are opportunistically seizing upon COVID-19 as an excuse to push for nationwide mail-in voting in the November presidential election. You may recall that Democrats beta-tested related shenanigans in 2018, when California Republicans were leading in many U.S. House seats on Election Night only to lose later through so-called ballot harvesting.

These groups also regard the requirement to show a government-issued photo ID at the polling place — which is a requirement in most democracies around the world — as the equivalent to waterboarding.

The blue city of Paterson, N.J. is currently engulfed in an election fraud controversy which is probably the tip of the iceberg for mail-in voting around the country. As BizPacReview has reported, four people including an elected city councilman and a councilman-elect face charges of mail-in vote fraud after authorities allegedly discovered hundreds of ballots in their possession for a May 12 special election.

In another N.J. community, up to 700 GOP voters received ballots for a July 7 primary featuring only Democrat candidates. The county clerk blamed it on a printer error.

Earlier this week, N.J. officials revealed that a stash of mail-in ballots may have been destroyed in postal vehicle fire. “First class mail is not tracked so there would be no way to know if people at these addresses had already received their ballots, thus enabling them to call and request additional ballots at will,” Law Enforcement Today observed.

“From duplicate voting, to people who are not citizens voting in elections, to people turning in ballots from people now deceased, there are just too many ways to circumvent the system when checks and balances are removed,” the Op-Ed added.

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany has explained to a willfully bind media that, as one of many examples, Los Angeles County has registered 112 percent of the population to vote, which automatically means there could be, at minimum, 12 percent fraud.
