The narcissistic, attention-seeking, anti-Trump singer turned crazy old woman Madonna is back in the spotlight again, and as usual, she’s managed to exasperate everybody.
She accomplished this by posting a tweet early Thursday evening that showed her adopted black son passionately dancing to Michael Jackson’s classic song “They Don’t Care About Us.”
She captioned the video by claiming her son was specifically dancing to pay tribute to George Floyd and “all acts of racism and discrimination.”
Watch:
Brutal murder travels around the world my son David Dances to honor and pay tribute to George and His Family and all Acts of Racism and Discrimination that happen on a daily basis in America. #davidbanda #JusticeforGeorgeFloyd #MichaelJackson pic.twitter.com/wLa6YKrYF1

While the dancing by her 14-year-old son was certainly charming and poignant, Madonna’s decision to share it publicly as a virtue-signaling stunt wasn’t well-received, with even hardcore leftists like Charlotte Clymer crying foul.
In fact, if you look at the backlash, it seems like it’s the most bipartisan exasperation that’s been seen on the social media network in ages.

Oh, Madonna, no baby, no.

What in the wide worlds of fucks did you post and why?
— Tony Posnanski (@tonyposnanski) May 29, 2020
This is worse than that Pepsi can.
— Akilah Green (@akilahgreen) May 29, 2020
I don’t even have the energy to cringe…
— SUCH (@Such) May 29, 2020
why did u do this. 😭
— “STEMLORD” (@upulie) May 29, 2020
This is the worst secondhand embarrassment I’ve ever felt. @Madonna probably means well but that video doesn’t sit well for a few reasons smarter people than me are tweeting about. The dog seems well taken care of though.

Maybe the worst tweet of all time. “ come dance in the kitchen for racism” is a weird take. To Michael Jackson? And other things.🤣🤣

Now that Madonna has posted a video of her son dancing racism is over, George Floyd has peace, justice will be served and the riots will stop. This is what everyone was waiting for. Stay tuned for updates from the bathtub.

There were a couple of key complaints, the lead one being that the video was uber-cringe.
The second complaint was that the video was insensitive and tone-deaf.
“A bit insensitive as you’re a person with a platform to voice their concern, you should be doing a lot more. Having your adopted black son dance ain’t going to force change to happen,” one Twitter user wrote.
“Good intentions but completely tone-deaf. Dancing away the racism of murderous cops won’t actually do anything. But thanks for trying!” another added.
The third complaint was that she, a white woman, was engaging in blatant exploitation of not only her adopted son but also Floyd’s death.

Stop exploiting your black children.

@Madonna Girl! Take this shit down! A man was murdered! Murdered! Stop exploiting this moment to show off your son’s dance moves! Have you seen the news? Have you seen the pain and anguish people are going through? Shame on you!!! Just shame on you! Also fuck you!
— Fried Pickles (@FriedPicklesNow) May 29, 2020
If your son made that video completely on his own, more power to him, and wish him the best of luck. But you do realize this does look like you’re exploiting a crisis for clout, even if that wasn’t your intention.

Madonna, you can’t just abduct youths from their homes and call them your children. Please, let him go. Don’t make him dance for your sick amusement. Another heartless honkey exploiting the POC. Chilling.
— Enlarged Al (@EnlargedAlbert) May 29, 2020
Having a white woman display a black man dancing on her twitter for her attention is about as low as it gets. Is he silent auditioning?
Shame on you for exploiting the memory of George Floyd.
— Elizabeth Holmes (@HolmesTeganimi) May 29, 2020
The final complaint was that Madonna was downplaying what happened to Floyd by acting as if her son’s otherwise praiseworthy dancing would somehow fix the world’s problems.
“I think all we need to do is show this to all the rioters in #Minneapolis, and they’ll realize @Madonna’s video has solved the problem of racism all over the world, and the violence will stop. Phew, that was close!” one cynic wrote.
Madonna’s latest failed stunt comes only days after she posted an Instagram video of Floyd’s death and captioned it by writing, “F–k the police.”

It likewise comes two months after she drew massive backlash by arguing that the coronavirus is “the great equalizer.”
