Janice Dean shares distressing details, need for accountability for deaths of in-laws while in NYC nursing home

Famed Fox News meteorologist Janice Dean explained late Thursday why she’d lashed out a day earlier at New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and far-left CNN commentator Chris Cuomo for trading petty jokes amid the deaths of so many New Yorkers.

Speaking on FNC’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” she revealed that both of her in-laws died recently from the coronavirus while housed in New York’s nursing homes — and added that she believes the elder Cuomo’s incompetence is to blame.

Listen to her  discussion with host Tucker Carlson below (disable your adblocker if the video doesn’t appear):

“So my husband’s parents were in assisted living. His mom was in an assisted living facility, his dad was in a nursing home and the plan was to have them both together,” she said.

“So Dee, his mom, was in assisted living [in] a double room. We were planning to have Mickey live with her. Mickey had dementia, and he had a few problems that he needed rehab, so he was in a nursing/rehab center, and the plan was to have them together.”

“And Sean [Newman, her husband] really wrestled with putting them in nursing homes and assisted living, so this was a decision that, you know, took place six to eight months ago very recently after struggling for months wondering if this was the right move.”

She added: “And as you’ve told your audience, we no longer have them here today.”

Indeed, and it’s her belief — one based on copious evidence that’s been ignored or buried by the demonstrably left-wing mainstream press — that Gov. Cuomo’s decision to funnel coronavirus-afflicted patients to nursing homes contributed to this.

“One of the reasons why I’m speaking out, Tucker, is because I have not seen the coverage of this,” Dean continued. “You’ve covered it, [fellow FNC host Martha MacCallum has] covered it, the New York Post has covered it. This should be one of the biggest stories of this pandemic of 2020.”

Twenty percent of our lost loved ones are from nursing homes, and it’s because Gov. Cuomo and several other governors, by the way, in different states forced COVID-recovering patients into nursing homes.”

Yet The New York Times, The Washington Post, HuffPost, ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and other mainstream networks have ignored this scandal, as Dean has noted in tweets posted a day prior to her interview on FNC:

“I am certain at least one of his parents — I believe his dad — before his dad died, a week before his dad died, they called Sean to tell him they were moving him to another floor. And I believe that floor was used for recovering COVID patients,” Dean added Thursday.

“I can’t prove that. We can’t get any confirmation on any of this. And by the way, he didn’t find out until the death certificate came in that he was COVID. He got a call on a Saturday morning that his dad was not feeling well, and three hours later he was dead.”

Meanwhile, because her husband’s mother was first rushed to a hospital before she died of the coronavirus two weeks later, her passing isn’t being counted as a nursing home death.

“And his mom two weeks later got COVID, was rushed to the hospital, died in the hospital and her number will not be counted as a nursing home or an assisted living home because of the governor’s policy of saying that she died in the hospital even though it was confirmed COVID,” Dean explained.

It’s almost as if the Cuomo administration has been fudging its coronavirus numbers. But instead of investigating this, the media have been smearing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, by accusing him of being the real numbers-fudger.

Meanwhile, allegedly esteemed members of the media like the younger Cuomo have been joking around with the governor instead of grilling him about this scandal.

“The fact that I am seeing last night him on another channel making fun, inappropriate jokes and sensitive jokes, cruel jokes …,” Dean concluded.

Make no mistake, I’m really glad that Chris Cuomo has recovered from COVID because he apparently did have it, and I’m glad that their family is well, but my family is not well, and that’s not something to joke about.”

She isn’t the only one who’s lashed out at the Cuomos.

Not included among those lashing out at Cuomo is anybody in the mainstream #OrangeManBad media.
