Exonerated former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn’s attorney, Sidney Powell, has called for acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell to immediately release a now-declassified list of Obama-era officials involved in her client’s unmasking.
She issued the call late Tuesday after a senior Department of Justice official told ABC News that “we do not intend to release the [unmasking] list” that Grenell had declassified a day earlier.

Of course, not releasing the list would defeat the purpose of declassifying it.
“I think it’s very important to go ahead and release that information because that will lead us closer to finding the person that actually leaked the information about the Kislyak call,” Powell said late Tuesday on Fox Business Network’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight.”
“That leak was the felony that started the entire scenario against Gen. Flynn. And so far, we know that [disgraced former FBI Director James] Comey and his FBI … were part of the unmasking, from Comey’s testimony that was just produced to us.”

The “plot” against Flynn was hatched after he met privately in late December of 2016 — during which time then-President-elect Donald Trump was transitioning into the White House — with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
Intelligence officials apparently overheard the non-controversial phone call, after which yet unnamed Obama administration officials unmasked Flynn, thus giving the FBI the information they needed to began targeting him with a perjury trap.
“[Comey] immediately briefed DNI [James] Clapper on it,” Powell continued. “Clapper asked for copies, plural, of the transcripts of that phone call and got them. And then Clapper immediately briefed President [Barack] Obama, who then told [then-Deputy Attorney General] Sally Yates about it in the Oval Office meeting on the fifth.”
On Jan. 5th, 2017, the White House held a grand meeting about Flynn. The meeting was joined by the likes of then-National Security Advisor Susan Rice, who’s suspected of being the one who authorized Flynn’s unmasking, and then-Vice President Joe Biden.
“That’s the same meeting from which they then then dispatched Mr. Comey to New York to brief President Trump only on the salacious aspects of the Steele Dossier because they wanted to give a news hook to CNN and BuzzFeed to run with the whole thing,” Powell added.
“The mere fact that the president and the president-elect had been briefed on it was enough for them to run with the whole thing, which Clapper had probably already leaked to them. So it’s all tied up together. A lot of information went down at that Jan. 5th meeting with Biden and Obama, Yates, Clapper, Brennan, Comey. The whole cabal was right there.”
The unmasking of the unmaskers — something that’s only possible if Grenell takes the initiative and releases the unmasking list — is necessary to understand the full scope of #ObamaGate, an emerging scandal that the media is trying desperately to downplay.
Case in point:
How can @BretBaier be hosting a supposed “straight-news” show while allowing @MZHemingway to appear on the program and push this “OBAMAGATE” stuff unchallenged with no opposing point of view?

“While the mainstream press moves on to other matters or simply mocks the absurdity of the president’s huffing and puffing about #Obamagate, the right-wing media plunge their audiences deeper into it,” @Timodc writes. https://t.co/ODU0aByyah pic.twitter.com/NVo4Ahlvj6

Except #ObamaGate is not a scam, no matter what certain disingenuous “reporters” may claim.
Writing for National Review, a highly credentialed 64-year-old magazine founded by William F. Buckley Jr., nationally syndicated writer David Harsanyi notes that it’s an incontrovertible fact that “members of the Obama administration, who had no genuine role in counterintelligence operations, repeatedly unmasked Trump’s allies.”
It’s equally incontrovertible that, “despite a dearth of evidence, the FBI railroaded Michael Flynn into a guilty plea so it could keep the investigation going.”
Not only is this behavior improper, but it’s also indicative of the additional malfeasance that may await the American people, depending on this year’s election results.
“Biden is the Democratic Party’s presumptive presidential nominee, he’s running as the heir to Obama’s legacy, and he was at that meeting with Rice,” Harsanyi notes.
“He had denied even knowing anything about the FBI investigation into Flynn before being forced to correct himself after ABC’s George Stephanopoulos pointed out that he was mentioned in Rice’s email. It’s completely legitimate to wonder what he knew about the investigation.”
Yet to hear congressional Democrats, their media allies and certain unnamed Obama-era DOJ officials tell it, all this is irrelevant …
But try telling that to the growing number of Americans, including Senate Judiciary Committee chair Lindsey Graham, who’ve taken to begging Grenell to release the list:
I would urge Rich Grenell, who has done a terrific job, to release the names of the people who made the unmasking request.https://t.co/9cXKDW0DIY

@RichardGrenell Rick: Respectfully, please release the names. I’m certain you will do the right thing. You always do.
