What a hoot! The Iowa Democratic Party (IDP) is floundering in an immense sea of their own ineptitude this morning, as voters, candidates, and media outlets question why there are no official vote totals available from last night’s party caucuses. Republicans are voicing their amazement at all of it, including President Trump’s campaign manager, Brad Parscale, who called it “the sloppiest train wreck in history.”

Fox News called the ongoing missing-results fiasco “a largely unexplained and unprecedented delay that has raised questions about the legitimacy of the contest — and Democratic campaign officials are livid.”

For those who thought the Dems had already alienated as many voters as possible with their outrageous, failed impeachment coup, the IDP sashayed out and said, “Here, hold my beer.”

“Democrats are stewing in a caucus mess of their own creation with the sloppiest train wreck in history,” Parscale said in a statement to reporters.

Echoing concerns raised from various sources, Parscale added: “It would be natural for people to doubt the fairness of the process,” Parscale wrote. “And these are the people who want to run our entire health care system?”

On the flip side, Parscale also announced that Republican caucuses tallied a “record turnout” for Trump. “Tonight President Trump posted a record performance in the well-run GOP Iowa caucuses with record turnout for an incumbent,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Democrats and progressive media channels wait … and wait … and wait.

Monday night, the IDP tried to explain that results were indefinitely delayed till later Tuesday due to “quality checks” and “inconsistencies” in some precinct reporting. They said the problems are not the result of a “hack or intrusion.” Whew … apparently Putin can relax.

Regarding the IDP’s “quality control on the results that they’ve received,” Parscale raised the question of whether that indicates the fix is in …

“We found inconsistencies in the reporting of three sets of results,” the IDP said in a late-night statement. “In addition to the tech systems being used to tabulate results, we are also using photos of results and a paper trail to validate that all results match and ensure that we have confidence and accuracy in the numbers we report. This is simply a reporting issue. The app did not go down and this is not a hack or an intrusion. The underlying data and paper trail is sound and will simply take time to further report the results.”

According to Fox News, in a conference call with the multiple candidates’ campaigns, an IDP representative told them they would be “getting photos of the paper results sent over.” A number of questions were raised by the campaign staffers in the call before the IDP simply hung up the phone.

The news channel reported, “A campaign staffer told Fox News the IDP’s brief call was ‘crazy.'”

Joe Biden’s campaign wrote to the IDP late in the evening complaining about “considerable flaws” in the caucus reporting process. “The app that was intended to relay Caucus results to the Party failed; the Party’s back-up telephonic reporting system likewise has failed,” the letter from the Biden campaign stated. “Now, we understand that Caucus Chairs are attempting to — and, in many cases, failing to — report results telephonically to the Party. These acute failures are occurring statewide. We appreciate that you plan to brief the campaigns momentarily on these issues, and we plan to participate. However, we believe that the campaigns deserve full explanations and relevant information regarding the methods of quality control you are employing, and an opportunity to respond, before any official results are released.”

An Elizabeth Warren staff member stated: “With every passing minute that there is a delay, we worry that the process will lose credibility.”

One interesting piece of information that surfaced, indicates that Democrat turnout was low. According to Fox News …

IDP spokesperson Mandy McClure said in a statement, “The integrity of the results is paramount. We have experienced a delay in the results due to quality checks and the fact that the IDP is reporting out three data sets for the first time. What we know right now is that around 25% of precincts have reported, and early data indicates turnout is on pace for 2016.”

However, the turnout in the 2016 Democratic caucuses in Iowa was only 171,109. That was far below the nearly 240,000 that took part in the 2008 Democratic caucuses, when then-Sen. Barack Obama won the contest — indicating that Democrats’ high hopes for enthusiasm have not panned out.

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on the Iowa caucuses:

“While the outcome in Iowa is still uncertain for Democrats, the Republican Party is more unified than ever behind President Trump and his historic record of results,” said Chairwoman McDaniel. “In November, Americans will choose four more years of President Trump’s historic progress for our country.”
