Trump-hater Jim Carrey’s pummeled by fans angry that he linked actresses career to her looks

Word to the wise: If you live by the woke, chances are you’ll die by the woke.

Enter very “woke” and obsessively anti-Trump Hollywood actor and comedian Jim Carrey, who’s spent the past four years building “yuge” credit with the social justice community via his incessant attacks on President Donald Trump and his children.

Sadly for him, however, he didn’t build up enough credit to save him from being devoured by the same class of leftists whom he’s tried to court. Of course, it appears he’s now trying to be a little less woke — more on this later — but still.

Flashback to Friday, when the actor appeared on “The Graham Norton Show,” a British talk show broadcast on BBC One. His appearance on the program coincided with the appearance of Australian actress and film producer Margot Robbie, whom he was excited to meet.

“I wanted to talk to you because you’re amazing and I’m so excited for you,” he said to the actress, presumably referring to her Oscar nomination.

It’s incredible that you’ve gotten as far as you have with your obvious physical disadvantages. That’s just pure talent there.”

Listen:

It was a fun, flirty joke, which was why Robbie and the audience burst out laughing. The fact is that Robbie is, objectively speaking, very attractive.

There’s just one problem: In the boring woke world that Carrey has intentionally chosen to inhabit, there’s so such thing as a fun, flirty joke, because so-called “fun, flirty jokes” — and all jokes, really — are verboten.

And so even though Robbie clearly appreciated the joke, the actor has nevertheless become public enemy numero uno to the SJW community.

Observe (*Language warning):

The references to “Sonic” are to “Sonic the Hedgehog,” an upcoming animated film co-starring Carrey. It’s unclear whether this anger from the liberal crowd will affect the movie’s sales.

What’s particularly interesting is the timing of this apparent faux pas, for something else quite remarkable also happened last week.

“You won’t be seeing any more political-themed paintings from actor-turned-artist Jim Carrey,” Yahoo News reported.

“At a recent press day for his new film Sonic the Hedgehog, the popular comedy star told Yahoo Entertainment he’s done skewering the likes of President Donald Trump, Sarah Huckabee Sanders and other figures associated with the current administration in unflattering caricatures he’d often post to his Twitter account.”

“To me, that was like a time, and it’s been a time, where I just wanted to be the lighthouse that was saying, ‘Hey, stay off the rocks, you’re headed for the rocks,'” he said to the outlet.

“We’re still headed for the rocks, but I’ve decided, ‘You understand my message, I don’t need to be steeped in it anymore.’ I think after a while … you get stuck in that kind of stuff.”

So exactly a day after he announced that he plans to cut it out with the uber-woke attacks on Trump, he went on to tell a very un-woke joke that triggered rage from the group for whom he used to make paintings …

Hmm! Is there perhaps a chance he’s following the footsteps of other comedians and waking up from his woke slumber? Probably not, given what he said about America still being “headed for the rocks” (it’s certainly not).

Nevertheless, many in the non-woke community have had no qualms about rushing to the actor’s defense and telling his compatriots to zip it with their snowflake-ism.
