After weeks of portraying President Donald Trump’s impeachment as some sort of “solemn,” “serious” and “sad” event driven by the Democrats’ desire for justice, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi finally let her hair loose and revealed the truth last week.
She didn’t do it explicitly, mind you, but her behavior spoke volumes.
On Friday, two days after she gloatingly signed articles of impeachment against the president, the speaker appeared on left-wing commentator Bill Maher’s HBO program, “Real Time,” to talk about ongoing events, including the articles.
During the two’s discussion, the host thanked Pelosi for waiting until mid-January to sign the articles and thus formally impeach the president.
“Thank you so much for waiting to we got back on the air before starting the impeachment,” he said, provoking laughter from the speaker.
“That deserves a fist-bump — thank you,” as he then added as he fist-bumped the eagerly willingly House speaker.

Friday’s airing of “Real Time” marked the show’s return to the airways. The last time it aired was on Nov. 19., when Maher spoke with Democrat Sen. Sherrod Brown, former Democrat National Committee chair Donna Brazile, left-wing Time magazine editor-at-large and fake news producer Ian Bremmer, left-wing New York Times columnist and DNC talking point peddler Frank Bruni, and Democrat National Committee associate chairman Jaime Harrison …
Why would Maher be thankful for the president’s impeachment occurring as his show returned to the airways? Possibly because of all the excitement and drama — and thus potential ratings — discussions about the impeachment could engender.
What’s telling is that Pelosi humored his attitude instead of calling him out for making light of a historical process that she’s claimed from day one is so “serious” and “solemn.”
“Very sadly now, our founders’ vision of a republic is under threat from actions from the White House,” she announced from the House floor last month as she formally initiated a debate on impeachment.
“That is why today, as speaker of the House, I solemnly and sadly open the debate on the impeachment of the president of the United States. If we do not act now, we would be derelict in our duty. It is tragic that the president’s reckless actions make impeachment necessary. He gave us no choice.”
During that same speech, she was forced to silence impeachment cheers from her “sad” and “solemn” colleagues.
So “sad,” so “solemn” …
When the time to sign the actual articles of impeachment arrived this Wednesday, she shed any remaining semblance of seriousness and solemnity.
She and her colleagues frankly seemed happier than pigs in mud at Wednesday’s ceremony. She even handed out pens with her name emblazoned on them …

So many pens that Pelosi will sign to officially transmit the articles of impeachment and sign resolution appointing House managers. Why so many? They will be given away to members like House managers as a symbol of today. pic.twitter.com/URHGGGGp7K

The lack of seriousness and solemnity even stunned the anti-Trump voices at CNN.
“We are used to seeing signing ceremonies handing out pens at moments of celebration, when a president is signing legislation, when even sometimes, and on rare occasion but it has happened, when the House sends over a landmark piece of legislation,” CNN’s Dana Bash remarked after the ceremony’s conclusion.
“It was unusual to see that kind of ceremony and handing out the pens and smiling for a picture in this kind of situation where the House speaker has bent over backward to say publicly and privately that this is somber, this is not a time for celebration.”
CNN reporter Nia-Malika Henderson concurred.
“I thought that was a little jarring and certainly off message, because you heard Nancy Pelosi say there that in fact, this was a sad and tragic day. And there she is holding up the pen and having photographs taken with those pens,” she said.
Couple Pelosi’s Wednesday with her fist-bump Friday, and it becomes exceedingly clear that the president’s impeachment is neither serious nor solemn, as noted by the president’s own son Donald Trump Jr.
Not that anyone ever believed her “somber moment” BS but this really drive the point home.
While @realDonaldTrump gets USMCA done, china trade done, takes out terrorists etc, the Dems have to stop him because his continued success is a threat to their failed leftist bullshit! https://t.co/Dy1nzolanE

Others concurred and warned that Democrats will pay a steep price next November for their smug arrogance and bullschiff.
This affair symbolizes the failure and ultimate end of democracy. The world’s great iconic democracy finally exposed as a failed system, ironically with a female leading its final death throes. This is a result of partisan power used to destroy legitimacy by stealth & dishonesty.

Pelosi will be the first female Speaker of the House to lose her majority twice. She has no idea what she has done which will make it just as much a surprise as the first time. Resentments never lead to positive outcomes.

Pelosi and Maher just illuminate for all to see how deep is their arrogance toward any one of us who actually has and still believes in America as a country. Really no words left to emote how fast our country has fallen into vast streams of corruption and deceit.

This clip gave me a 2016 déjà vu … they’re just so smug & sure of themselves.
Can’t wait for karma to step in … you can bet it will be a joke GIF!

Talk about a deplorable. If I hadn’t seen the impeachment vote with the cheering and the signing, I would have thought this was unbelievable. But no, it’s not unbelievable. It’s despicable.

Making America dislike her one fist bump at a time. Disgusting

Never did believe her little speeches about this being a somber and prayerful time and saying no one is celebrating. She and the Dems have put their hate for Trump over their love of country. They are not doing this for the constitution, it’s retribution for the 2016 election.
