If you believe that virulent left-wing media bias only plagues the United States, you may be wrong.
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation seemingly demonstrated its own left-wing bias recently by removing President Donald Trump from a broadcast of the classic 1992 film “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.”
The original film contained a cameo in which the film’s main character, a boy named Kevin, ran into then-businessman Trump at the landmark Plaza Hotel in Manhattan.
But according to viewers who tuned in to watch the film’s broadcast on the CBC, the cameo was missing:
CBC TV in Canada has cut Donald Trump’s Home Alone 2 cameo out of their broadcast.
They’re so triggered by him that they had to edit him out of the film.

Canadian government funded TV channel is so triggered that they cut the .@realDonaldTrump
Cameo from Home Alone 2 while airing it over Christmas. I bet “two faced” Trudeau made the call directly to the .@CBC and demanded they cut the scene.. Or maybe just black it out#DefundCBC

The big question is why.
“As is often the case with features adapted for television, Home Alone 2 was edited to allow for commercial time within the format,” a spokesperson with the Canadian network said in a statement to ComicBook.com.
Is that true, though? Analysis by PJ Media suggests not.
“Donald Trump formally announced his campaign in June 2015. The first time the CBC’s cutting of Trump’s cameo appearance was acknowledged on Twitter was around Christmas that year,” the conservative blog notes.

CBC cut out the ‘Home Alone II’ Donald Trump cameo.
— Garrick Kozier (@gkozier) December 20, 2015
“[E]ither 2015 happened to be the first year the CBC broadcasted the movie … or something happened between the 2014 CBC broadcast of Home Alone 2, and the 2015 CBC broadcast,” the blog continues.
Trump announced his candidacy for office on June 16, 2015, i.e., six months after the CBC allegedly aired “Home Alone 2” with his cameo, and six months before the CBC aired “Home Alone 2” without his cameo.
“Trump’s presidential bid appears to the be beginning of the folks at the CBC being triggered by Trump so badly that they actually had to edit him out of their broadcast of the film. I can’t decide if this is hilarious or sad,” PJ Media concludes.
Update 12/27/19: The CBC posted a statement Thursday claiming the edits were first made in 2014:
CBC responds to criticism that short scene featuring Donald Trump was deleted from movie Home Alone 2, which aired recently. Spokesperson says ‘several’ cuts made for time. ‘These edits were done in 2014 when we first acquired the film and before Mr. Trump was elected president.’

As of Friday, this hadn’t been confirmed. Nor did everybody believe the network. A more comprehensive update can be read here.
Dovetailing back to the present, tweets about this omission first appeared this holiday season on Dec. 15:
— Frank DiBiase (@DiBiaseFrank) December 15, 2019
It’s not clear how many additional times the CBC has aired “Home Alone 2” this Christmas holiday season. All that’s known for certain is that Trump’s cameo was definitely removed this year, as well as in 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015 and, according to the CBC, 2014.
With this year’s omission having since gone viral, the responses have multiplied.

It’s been 24/7 HATE for this so-called news org forever!
CBC pushed the Russia Hoax, hate Trump, for 3 1/2 yrs!
Now pushing the ‘climate crisis’, govt sponsored hoax.
This org supports the destruction of democratic rule
Paid to hide Trudeau’s criminality https://t.co/vEPIhxzDpe

This is the same network in Canada (CBC) that brought on Omar Khadr live. He’s the terrorist that killed American medic and got paid 10.5 million by Idiot Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The liberal government runs CBC and Trump sees Justin for the bitch he is, so he was cut out

If airtime is so precious to CBC, they need to explain all of the primetime deep cuts into shirtless JT, photobombing JT, etc.
Not defending Trump, but there’s no way — NO WAY — they’d cut a cameo of The Chosen One.
This was deliberate and petty.

The only reason I’d want to defund the cbc is they’ve long abandoned being apolitical and about culture, having become bitterly hateful, the trump thing is just a spotlight on the rot.
— Tech-Priest Not-a-Necron (@DarkFirebrand) December 26, 2019
#DefundCBC It’s not about whether you like Trump, which I don’t. For the CBC to edit an iconic movie to make a petty political point not only show bias, it shows over-the-top stupid and dangerous bias.
— Cheryl K (@ckyys) December 26, 2019
The latter tweet is particularly interesting, as it originates with someone who’s not even pro-Trump — but who nevertheless agrees that the left’s never-ending hatred for America’s duly elected president is beyond the pale.
And much like its counterparts here in the states, the CBC does seem to suffer from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Case in point: Two years ago, the CBC hired an actor to portray a Trump supporter selling white power t-shirts on the streets. No joke!
That really happened …
Is it really any surprise then that this same media outlet felt it appropriate to remove the president’s cameo from “Home Alone 2?”
Regardless, in case you ache to see the cameo, you may watch it below:
