Taylor Swift goes off at awards event, calls out ‘Soros family’ in emotional rant

After making her bed with dogs, singer-songwriter Taylor Swift now has fleas.

In recent times, the 30-year-old singer has become a bullhorn for radical Democrat causes. And in doing so, it appears she’s attracted the wrong kind of attention.

While accepting the Woman of the Decade award at Billboard’s “Women in Music” event this Thursday, the young artist spoke of alleged mistreatment she’s faced and traced it to the world’s most notorious Democrat, billionaire activist George Soros.

Listen:

The mistreatment allegedly came at the hands of Scooter Braun, a music executive and longtime Democrat donor who purchased her former record label, Big Machine, over the summer, and in doing so obtained the rights to the masters for her first six albums.

After obtaining these rights, he then used the rights to forbid her from performing her own songs, as noted by Forbes back in mid-November.

“Taylor Swift on Thursday accused prolific music manager Scooter Braun of preventing her from performing her old songs during a live performance at the American Music Awards later this month, escalating a long-running feud between the pair over who owns the rights to Swift’s extensive music catalogue,” the outlet reported at the time.

Braun claimed that her performance would have amounted to a re-recording of her tracks. And as per her original contract with Big Machine, Swift isn’t allowed to actually re-record her tracks til 2020.

She explained all this in a Twitter post at the time:

She also claimed Braun and former Big Think CEO Scott Borchetta have blocked her from including her old songs in her upcoming documentary, “Taylor Swift: Miss Americana.”

In her speech Thursday, Swift emotionally expounded further on this alleged mistreatment and how it traces back to Soros.

After I was denied the chance to purchase my music outright, my entire catalog was sold to Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings in a deal that I’m told was funded by the Soros Family, 23 Capital, and the Carlyle Group,” she said.

“Yet to this day none of these investors have ever bothered to contact me or my team directly. To perform their due diligence on their investment. On their investment in me. To ask how I might feel about the new owner of my art. The music I wrote. The videos I created. Photos of me, my handwriting, my album designs. And of course, Scooter never contacted me or my team to discuss it prior to the sale or even when it was announced.”

In short, neither Braun nor his financial backers, including Soros, appear to give an actual damn about her.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, “[l]ike Soros, Braun is a major Democratic donor with a history of backing liberal causes. Braun and actor George Clooney backed the ostensibly student-led 2018 March For Our Lives rally for gun control in Washington, D.C.”

Swift’s rant also included mention of the Carlyle Group, a private equity firm previously linked to the family of deceased Sept. 11 mastermind Osama bin Laden.

“The Saudi family of Osama bin Laden is severing its financial ties with the Carlyle Group, a private investment firm known for its connections to influential Washington political figures, executives who have been briefed on the decision said today,” The New York Times reported in October of 2001.

“The decision, reached late last week, was by mutual agreement, a senior executive with the investment firm said. It came largely as a result of public controversy about the family’s stake in a Carlyle fund that invests in buyouts of military and aerospace companies, the executive said.”

Continuing her rant, Swift then spoke of so-called “toxic male privilege” and alleged gender inequality in her industry.

Some social media users were puzzled by the singer’s speech. On one hand, she’s embraced the most radical Democrat causes. But on the other hand, she’s astounded that the very same breed of left-wingers who’s she’s blindly supported would turn around and try to essentially screw her over.

“Why has Tay completely sold out for the left, when their puppetmaster is trying to control her strings?” Alex Clark, a conservative affiliated with Turning Point USA, asked in confusion. “Today is Taylor’s 30th birthday. I’m praying all the wisdom they say hits you in your 30s comes sooner rather than later, and that this would be her REAL political awakening.”

Swift did indeed turn 30 on Friday, and it has indeed long been theorized that young men and women take a sharp political turn to the right once they hit their 30s.

However, this theory has been based on young men and women being forced to contend with the realities of life: bills, rent, insurance, healthcare, etc.

In Swift’s case, she’s been famous and thus wealthy since she was at least 17, meaning she’s not had the chance to experience many of the stressors that plague the lives of normal, everyday Americans. For this reason, it’s not clear whether she’ll ever undergo a political reawakening, especially when the grossly privileged star already has the world at her fingertips:
