Greg Gutfeld warns smug Dems that impeachment will backfire: ‘It’s self-destructive folly’

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld sounded the alarm to smug Democrats, warning them that their sham impeachment will backfire in epic fashion when President Trump coasts to a 2020 landslide.

Why? Because Gutfeld predicts that the unfair, bogus impeachment stunt will anger Americans on both sides of the political aisle.

“[The impeachment] is going to be D.O.A. and it’s going to be a self-destructive folly,” Gutfeld said Monday on The Five. “The Democrats are deliberately handicapping themselves with a losing battle. It’s ‘collusion’ times 10.”

Gutfeld pointed out that despite the Democrats’ breathless assertions that Republicans will support the impeachment, “not a single Republican voted for the inquiry despite the media and the Never-Trumpers publicly dreaming and wishing it to be so.”

In fact, two Democrats voted against impeachment. Based on this tenuous support, Gutfeld warned Democrats that the Republican-led Senate will kill impeachment as soon as it comes before them.

“That’s not going to bode well for the Senate,” Gutfeld said. “Pelosi’s [House] vote should tell you everything you need to know about this circus. It’s going to fail. It’s going to have an emotional fallout that’s way worse than ‘The Bachelor’ at the very end getting a ‘no.'”

Gutfeld continued: “There’s going to be no Watergate and he’s going to win reelection. What are you going to do then?”

Greg Gutfeld noted that the Democrats are hanging their impeachment of a president who has committed no “high crimes or misdemeanors” on a single phone call.

Gutfeld said if Trump was really conspiring with Ukraine to rig the 2020 election, he wouldn’t have done so on a phone call that multiple aides listened in on. Moreover, Trump released the transcript of the call.

“This is the most transparent ‘conspiracy’ in history — a secret phone call done in public,” Gutfeld noted. “Which tells you the intent: Trump didn’t think it was illegal because it wasn’t.”

The Democrats are trying to unilaterally impeach Trump because they claim that he had pressured Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden’s alleged abuse of power as vice president.

However, the transcript that the White House released contradicts these accusations.

Moreover, the Ukrainian president and Ukraine’s foreign minister have both stated that President Trump did not pressure them or make any demands.

Alarming revelations about the partisan background of the Democratic whistleblower (whose complaint launched the impeachment) has fueled rampant speculation that he is a left-wing operative who’s being groomed by Adam Schiff to lodge a bogus complaint.

Accordingly, Senator Rand Paul has urged the media to out the whistleblower so Americans can judge his motives for themselves.

“The whistleblower needs to come before Congress as a material witness because he worked for Joe Biden at the same time that Hunter Biden was getting money from corrupt oligarchs,” Paul said. “I say tonight to the media: Do your job and print his name!”

Paul added: “And I say this to my fellow colleagues in Congress, to every Republican in Washington: Step up and subpoena Hunter Biden and subpoena the whistleblower!”
