Satirical ‘Hillary tweet’ claiming condolences for Tulsi Gabbard’s demise wins the internet

The Babylon Bee had maybe the best reaction to the recent spat between Hillary Clinton and presidential hopeful Tulsi Gabbard.

“Hillary Clinton Accidentally Posts Condolences For Tulsi Gabbard’s Suicide One Day Early,” the satire site tweeted this week. It was posted along with a fake tweet from Clinton saying, “It is with great sadness that I heard of Tulsi Gabbard’s suicide this morning. She was a patriot and will be remembered. RIP my friend.”

“Oops! A social media scheduling error apparently caused Hillary Clinton to post her condolences for Tulsi Gabbard’s suicide one day early,” the site wrote. It’s obviously a play on conspiracy theories surrounding the Clintons and the fact that so many people around them seem to wind up, well, dead.

Doubling down on the humor, Babylon Bee followed up their tweet with an arguably even more hilarious statement.

“Just to clarify: We Would Like To State For The Record That Hillary Clinton Is An Upstanding Citizen And A Fine Human Being,” the site tweeted, making sure not to make themselves an enemy of Hillary Clinton.

The tweet links to a statement from the site’s “editorial board” that was posted in August.

“We would like to clear things up by saying that Hillary Clinton is an upstanding citizen and a very fine human being. She is of excellent character. She would never hurt anyone. The people who wrote those jokes, headlines, and pieces that seemed to criticize Hillary have been dealt with,” the article reads.

People found plenty of humor in Babylon Bee’s satirical take on Clinton’s recent back-and-forth with Gabbard.

Hillary Clinton deemed Gabbard an enemy of the Democrat Party earlier this month when she called her a “Russian asset” and claimed the candidate was being “groomed” by the foreign nation.

“I’m not making any predictions but I think they’ve got their eye on somebody who is currently in the Democratic primary and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate,” Clinton said on the “Campaign HQ” podcast.

Gabbard responded in a video calling out Clinton for being everything wrong with the current Democrat Party.

“Hillary, your foreign policy was a disaster for our country and the world — resulting in the deaths and injuries of so many of my brothers and sisters in uniform, devastating entire countries, millions of lives lost, refugee crises,” she said in the video.

“Yet despite the damage you have done to our country and the world, you want to continue your failed policies directly or indirectly through the Democratic nominee,” she added.
