“The View” co-host Meghan McCain is not happy with President Donald Trump’s announcement that he will be pulling troops out of northern Syria.
“I’m going a little bit rogue, but I’ve been so mad this morning and so upset about this news that we are abandoning our Kurdish allies in the Middle East. These are allies of ours that American soldiers are still continuing to fight alongside. All we did was arm them and they fought for America,” McCain said on Monday.

“And to everyone in the White House and every Republican who was mad when President Obama pulled out of Iraq, you feckless unpatriotic cowards!” McCain exclaimed. “What message is this sending to our allies and American troops who have fought and died for this.”
She went on to call it a “great day for ISIS.”
“This is a great day for ISIS and a great day for Assad and shame on everyone who is supporting this,” she said.
McCain later said the situation will only get worse in Syria following Trump’s decision.
“When people say we’re sick of fighting them we can fight them over there or we can fight them over here. I am a person who believes this will only get worse as it did when we left Iraq,” she said.
Plenty of neoconservatives have been calling the president out following his decision, but Trump made it clear when he was running for president in 2016 that he finds the efforts in the Middle East to be wasteful and peace is a priority for him — as it is for many Americans tired of spending money and lives in a region that does not seem to be improve.
“I was elected on getting out of these ridiculous endless wars, where our great Military functions as a policing operation to the benefit of people who don’t even like the USA. The two most unhappy countries at this move are Russia & China, because they love seeing us bogged down, watching over a quagmire, & spending big dollars to do so,” Trump tweeted on Monday following the announcement of his decision.
“When I took over, our Military was totally depleted. Now it is stronger than ever before. The endless and ridiculous wars are ENDING! We will be focused on the big picture, knowing we can always go back & BLAST!” he added.

Trump’s decision follows Turkey announcing a potential offensive front in the country, which the president also addressed on Twitter.
As I have stated strongly before, and just to reiterate, if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I’ve done before!). They must, with Europe and others, watch over…

….the captured ISIS fighters and families. The U.S. has done far more than anyone could have ever expected, including the capture of 100% of the ISIS Caliphate. It is time now for others in the region, some of great wealth, to protect their own territory. THE USA IS GREAT!

While plenty of conservatives like McCain and Lindsey Graham are not happy with Trump’s approach, more libertarian-leaning Republicans have praised the president for the bold move.
“I stand with @realDonaldTrump today as he once again fulfills his promises to stop our endless wars and have a true America First foreign policy,” Kentucky Senator Rand Paul tweeted in support.

Somebody give me a date…
When do you give up trying to fix the Middle East? When do you admit defeat?
How many more years before we stop sending men to die in the Middle East?
Just give me a date.

The Middle East cannot be fixed.
The Kurds and Turks have been fighting for centuries.
This is not our problem.
Military aid, fine… But I’m done with American dying for that mess.

There’s the part I was waiting for. I’m fully on board with obliterating Turkey’s economy if they go into “off limits” territory. https://t.co/tbGlNgEiqw

Colin Powell says “foreign policy is in shambles.”
I’m old enough to remember when Colin Powell talked the country into going to war in Iraq when he (falsely) said there was evidence of WMD.

Great step in the right direction. Now to pull out of everywhere else.
