Fox News show “The Five” torched MSNBC opinion host Lawrence O’Donnell for his shoddy “reporting” in pushing yet another sham anti-Trump Russia narrative that he later had to retract and apologize for.

All the panelists agreed that O’Donnell made a grave error when he breathlessly spouted an unverified story that had relied on a single, anonymous source who didn’t have direct knowledge of the fake news he was pushing.

“I don’t think people need to watch his show tonight,” The Five co-host Dana Perino said. “He has already shown he doesn’t care about giving accurate information.”

Perino warned: “I say this on Twitter too: If you have to write ‘Big if true’ on something you are re-tweeting: don’t tweet it!”

Perino — who’s not a Trump supporter — said terrible reporting like O’Donnell’s merely proves President Trump’s point that the media cannot be trusted and are gaslighting the public to brainwash them.

Perino said: “Now President Trump can turn around and say, ‘Here they go again. I told you!’ They are proving his point over and over again.”

Co-host Greg Gutfeld agreed, saying MSNBC should be more “leery of any Russian bombshell story,” given how the Russia collusion hoax blew up in their faces.

“Maybe he got pranked,” Gutfeld said. “The single source could have been Trump on the phone saying ‘Yes, it was Russian oligarchs. Trust me on this, Larry. Trust me!’”

Even Trump-hating leftist Juan Williams chided Lawrence O’Donnell and lamented the sad state of “journalism” today.

“It seems we have gone away from gatekeepers in journalism,” Williams said. “Social media is like, ‘Who has it first? Who can just make an outrageous statement that gets lots of clicks?’ This was an outrageous statement by O’Donnell’s own admission. He really didn’t have the story.”

Williams continued:  “It’s bad journalism. In this era with the Internet dominating everything, this is the way we are going. People don’t seem to understand that this is a mistake. It’s not good.”

Naturally, President Trump weighed in on Twitter, launching a scathing smackdown of perennial anti-Trumper O’Donnell.

Trump tweeted: “Crazy Lawrence O’Donnell, who has been calling me wrong from even before I announced my run for the Presidency, even being previously forced by NBC to apologize, which he did while crying, for things he said about me & The Apprentice, was again forced to apologize, this time for the most ridiculous claim of all — that Russia, Russia, Russia, or Russian oligarchs, co-signed loan documents for me, a guarantee.”

Trump added: “Totally false, as is virtually everything else he, and much of the rest of the LameStream Media, has said about me for years. ALL APOLOGIZE!”

Every time O’Donnell screws up, everyone is reminded of what a buffoon he made of himself in 2017, when he had an unhinged meltdown. During his rant, O’Donnell proved that he is a verbally abusive jackass who bullies, curses, and yells at his crew.

That’s what leaked outtakes from the August 29, 2017 episode of “The Last Word With Lawrence O’Donnell,” indicate.

In the profanity-laced, 8-minute video, O’Donnell screamed at his staff about a malfunctioning earpiece and hammering noises coming from outside the control room.

“Stop the hammering! Stop the hammering out there!” O’Donnell shouted at the top of his lungs. “Who’s got a hammer? Where is it? Where’s the hammer? Go up on the other floor! Somebody go up there and stop the hammering! Stop the hammering! I’ll go down to the g-ddamned floor myself and stop it!”

O’Donnell then demanded that his staff call MSNBC president Phil Griffin to stop the noise, which the crew had no control over.

The hammering noises also appeared to be coming from a different floor.

“Call f-cking Phil Griffin! I don’t care who you have to call!” O’Donnell yelled. “Stop the hammering! Empty out the g-ddamned control room and find out where this is going on!”

O’Donnell then angrily tore up a piece of paper while launching into a self-pitying rant.

“It just f—ing sucks!” he yelled, without regard for his how tirade was affecting his staffers. “It f-cking sucks to be out here with this out-of-control sh-t!”

The hypocrisy of all this is that Lawrence O’Donnell spends almost all his airtime trashing President Trump as a bully and a tyrant. But that’s exactly what he apparently is behind the scenes.

And now, he’s also a liar and fake-news shill.
