U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell hit “the nail on the head,” according to Donald Trump Jr., when discussing the United States’ relationship to Europe during a Saturday appearance on Fox News’ “Cavuto Live.”

Discussing the trade war between the United States and China and reported requests from European leaders like Boris Johnson for President Donald Trump to dial back his rhetoric, Grenell made clear that Europe should be taking a lesson from the United States at the moment.

“Look, let me be very clear, if we want a united front then Europe needs to dial up. We don’t need to dial back, ” the ambassador said. “The fact of the matter is our economy is the one that’s humming and I hear every single day that German CEOs are racing into the U.S. because of the pro-growth strategies.”

He continued, “Look, the German economy is struggling. People are looking at the largest economy in Europe and they’re trying to figure out what to do. And what we’re saying is, when we go to the G7 and we’re trying to talk about growth, follow us. Do what we did.”

Grenell said for the European economy to grow there “needs to be a plan with a deregulation aspect,” similar to what Trump has done with U.S. economy since taking office.

Grenell added Europe needs “fiscal expansion” and “tax cuts.”

The ambassador then reiterated to the United States’ European allies, “dial it up.”

“Once again my friend @RichardGrenell hits the nail on the head,” Donald Trump Jr. tweeted in response to Grenell’s appearance on “Cavuto Live.”

Grenell later took to Twitter to once again call on Europe to stand behind the United States in its hardline stance against China.

“We need a united front on China right now. Dial it up, Europe,” he tweeted.

Grenell also said during his appearance on Fox News that “China doesn’t play by the rules” when it comes to the world economy and he believes civil engagement with the country has not worked thus far, so President Trump’s tariffs and hardline tweets have been an appropriate response to the situation.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham also praised Trump during an appearance on Fox News for his tough tactics in dealing with China.

“The goal is to get China to stop cheating the United States out of [the] marketshare [and] to play by the rules that everybody else in the world plays by,” Graham said while appearing on Fox News’ “The Story with Martha McCallum.”

The South Carolina senator added, “We almost had a deal several months ago and then they backed out of it. When it comes to a trade war, we’ve got more bullets than they do so I think the president’s determined to get China to change their behavior and I’m 100 percent with [Trump].”

President Trump made clear through tweets sent out on Friday that he has no intention of backing down in a trade war between the United States and China.
