‘Nothing wrong with this water’: CBP official shreds AOC’s misinformation campaign with tour of detention facility

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection official who appears to be of Hispanic descent has taken it upon himself to “dispel some of the misinformation” about CBP’s detention facilities that’s been propagated by the likes of socialist Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, among others.

CBP Tucson Sector Chief Patrol Agent Roy Villareal accomplished this by providing a video tour of one of the many detention facilities he manages in what’s been described as “one of the busiest Border Patrol sectors in the nation.”

Watch:

“My goal today is to dispel some of the misinformation that’s out there in regards to our detention facilities, so come with me,” he says as the video begins.

He then proceeds to show a supply room stocked with diapers, baby wipes, children’s clothing marked by gender/age, clothing for men/women and hygiene products.

Next he shows off a food/supply cart that contains everything from baby formula to crackers, raisins, tuna fish, blankets, paper cups and even toothbrushes.

And finally, he addresses “the biggest misinformation” by showcasing the various means by which detained illegal aliens may obtain water.

“Aliens are not forced to drink out of the toilet,” he says. “Aliens have options, with fresh water that’s provided on a regular basis in a water cooler. There’s also water that’s provided in this combination toilet/sink, and the sink provides fresh water.”

To prove his point, he fills a paper cup with water from the sink and drinks it.

“There’s nothing wrong with this water,” he says as the video concludes. “We’re not forcing aliens to drink out of the toilet. Ladies and gentlemen, as the men and women of the United States Border Patrol continue to safeguard our nation, I hope you have a wonderful 4th of July.”

The images seen in this video stand in stark contrast to the dubious, unsubstantiated claims made this week by AOC and a batch of her freshmen Democrat peers.

After storming through several CBP detention facilities earlier this week, the freshmen congresswoman began making a series of outlandish, hysterical claims.

One was that she’d witnessed an illegal alien woman drinking from a toilet. That’s already been disproved. Another was that the guards were “physically & sexually threatening” toward her.

Villareal isn’t the only official who’s disputed AOC’s outrageous allegations.

“It’s just not accurate,” acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan said Wednesday in regard to AOC’s claim about illegal aliens drinking from the toilet.

We would never ask anyone to drink out of a toilet. The women in that cell had access to a 5-gallon jug of water with cups right outside the door of their cell, which was not locked.”

The video by Villareal does substantiate this.

Meanwhile, not a shred of evidence has emerged to substantiate AOC’s wild claims, including the conspiratorial claim that CBP’s detention facilities are veritable concentration camps.

Nor has the 29-year-old congresswoman offered an adequate answer for why she and her freshmen peers chose to vote against a bill to funnel emergency funds to the Department of Homeland Security so that, among other things, CBP officials can take better care of illegals.

All she’s done is issue outrageous accusation/claim after outrageous accusation/claim, all while ignoring the root causes of the ongoing crisis: the continued incentivization of illegal immigration via the Democrats’ pro-illegal-alien policies.

“Responding to rewards that incentivize illegal immigration, migrants have flowed into the United States at record rates. In each of the last three months, more than 100,000 migrants have been detained for illegally crossing our borders. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told senators this week that many are renting babies to cross the border,” former Congressman Jason Chaffetz warned in an op-ed last month.

“Of the 144,000 apprehended by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) during the month of May, 11,507 were unaccompanied minors. And these were just the ones that were caught.”

The incentivization stems from all the freebies that Democrats keep offering illegal aliens, including free healthcare. To make matters worse, Democrats keep trying to add more incentives.

Chaffetz noted for instance a provision placed in a House Appropriations draft funding bill that would bar immigration authorities from returning illegal aliens who are “(A) pregnant women; (B) individuals identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender; and (C) mentally or physically disabled individuals” to their home countries.

“So in addition to incentivizing migrants to bring children (not necessarily their own) on the dangerous trek, now Democrats also want to reward migrants to bring with them pregnant women or physically disabled people, not to mention the mentally disabled who are more likely to end up becoming part of our massive homeless population,” the former congressman wrote.

“And there’s that special carve out for anyone who claims to be LGBT. How exactly does the government document those claims? For those willing to lie about whose child they just dragged across the desert, no doubt lying about their sexual orientation or mental health status will be far less trouble.”
