A Washington Post reporter unwittingly shared an overheard reaction to the second night of this week’s Democratic Party presidential debate that may not bode well for the party.
We say unwittingly because we are talking about the Washington Post.
“Overheard while watching the debate just now: “I’m not sure I’m a Democrat anymore.” -Democrat next to me complaining abt how far left the party has moved,” tweeted reporter Rachael Bade.

With intolerant progressive Democrats making their presence felt, aggressively pursuing any member of the party who doesn’t fall in line, the debates took on a decidedly left-wing flavor. And the unidentified person Bade overheard is undoubtedly not alone as negative reactions of the two-night Dem debate spectacle pour in.
Even former Vice President Joe Biden, who fancies himself a middle-of-the-road guy, is being dragged to the left.
Issues like abolishing private health insurance for all in favor of government insurance was embraced by several front runners, to include Sens. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Kamala Harris, D-Calif., as well as New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.
And that was just the beginning of the radical agenda unfolded before the American people.
Health care for illegal immigrants was supported by every candidate Thursday night, to include Biden. Open borders was a popular theme, as Democrats voiced approval for decriminalizing illegal immigration.
Taxing the middle class was openly backed by Sanders, while many of the candidates supported a 70% marginal tax rate. Unrestricted abortion was heavily supported, as was free college and licensing guns.
While only a handful of Democrats are brave enough to call themselves socialists, the agenda presented to the country did the speaking for the meek.
From very liberal Time Magazine: “That sound you heard in Miami on Wednesday evening? The screech of a Democratic Party swerving hard to the left.”

Even CNN was warning that the Democrats are going too far to the left — and that’s quite a feat.

And notorious Trump-hating MSNBC host Joe Scarborough could hardly contain his anguish over the debate:
Despondent Joe Scarborough openly laments ‘clown show’ Dem debate: ‘Disaster for the Democratic Party’ https://t.co/hRa4q8gr25

Pollster Frank Luntz appeared on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle,” to say the Democratic Party “has lost the center.”
“This is not your parents’ Democratic Party,” Luntz said. “This isn’t even your older sister’s Democratic Party. It has changed considerably. And over the last two-and-a-half years, it has lost the center –both on economic policy and … on social policy.”
“The question for the Democrats right now is, are they going to move so far left that they lose the center and have no ability to unite between now and 16 months from now?” Luntz asked.
Hell, it was even too much for MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, who described it as a “clown show.”
“With apologies to our friends and watching, last night was a disaster for the Democratic Party,” he said Friday morning, disappointed that the Democrat candidates directed their ire at one another instead of at President Trump.
Scarborough was in disbelief over their stance on illegal immigration.
“It is a position of every Democrat on that stage that illegal immigrants, if they cross the border illegally, should get healthcare for life,” he said. “It’s then the position of every Democrat on that stage, that if they cross the border illegally, it’s not even illegal anymore.”
“Now, that may make Democrats feel really good about themselves, right?” Scarborough continued. “But that loses Wisconsin, that loses Pennsylvania. That loses Florida. That loses North Carolina. It may lose Virginia.”
The one person smiling after the debacle is President Trump, who declared “the end of the race” over the issue of health insurance for illegal immigrants alone.
The Republican Party is also paying attention to the leftward surge.

One social media user suggested that former President Bill Clinton “wouldn’t qualify as a Democrat in the eyes of this crazy bunch.”

Here’s a sampling of other reactions from Twitter:
The left has moved so far left that they’re now located outside the stadium in the parking lot! It’s mind boggling how they’re all robots who raise their hand to ensure they’re not left out of their crazy ideas on illegal immigration
