One of America’s most notorious, die-hard Trump haters just received some exceptionally bad news.
On Thursday attorneys for Hollywood actor Robert De Niro’s estranged wife demanded that he hand over half of his estimated “$500 million” fortune.
“The ‘Raging Bull’ star’s soon-to-be ex Grace Hightower made the big money grab — and revealed intimate details of his net worth — Thursday in Manhattan Supreme Court, where the two sat through another in a series of contentious hearings in their ongoing divorce,” Page Six confirmed.
FYI, he’s been married several times and has six children:

There’s both good news and bad news for De Niro. The good news is that when he and Hightower remarried in 1999 — after having first married in 1997 and then divorced in 1999 – they signed a prenuptial agreement. The bad news is that each side in the ongoing divorce hearings disagrees over the exact stipulations of the agreement.
The actor claims Hightower is entitled to only “$6.5 million in cash and property … plus annual alimony of $1 million and half the value of a second apartment,” according to Page Six.
To be clear, that’s still a lot for anyone to give up … especially after signing a prenup agreement. It suggests at the very least that whoever drew up the prenup is a complete idiot.
Hightower meanwhile claims that she’s entitled to half of everything De Niro’s earned since the two remarried in 1999. If true, that would entitle her to half of his earnings from movies such as “Meet the Fockers,” “Righteous Kill,” “The Intern” and dozens more. It’d also reportedly entitle her to his business earnings.
“The bulk of that half-billion-dollar fortune comes from his movies and his lucrative stake in the Nobu sushi chain,” Page Six notes. “She also believes she’s entitled to an additional 50 percent of what he earned from his share in Tribeca Grill, the 88-room Greenwich Hotel and Canal Productions.”
“Mr. De Niro has made $300 million since 2004 via 35 businesses, and 38 movies,” Hightower’s lawyer angrily argued in court Thursday. “His total income is more than $500 million. He gets it all.”
And apparently, that’s a problem for Hightower, which is odd given that she owes much of her grandiose life to De Niro. She reportedly grew up poor and spent her 20s and some of her 30s working odd jobs just to survive. Then she met the Hollywood actor in 1987, and her life changed for the better. She’s since become a famous actress, actress, socialite, singer and philanthropist.
Given this information, one could reasonably argue that De Niro owes his wife nothing and that he’s being unfairly treated by her. It would however be significantly harder to argue that he doesn’t have this dose of karma coming to him given his constant unfair attacks on President Donald Trump.

I think Robert De Niro should of focused on his marriage instead of @realdonaldtrump.

Hollywood Assholes Wife who became a Trump Supporter because of His Hate wants 50% or More— G F Yurself (@FYurself) June 7, 2019
See the last tweet above? That’s neither a joke nor a sarcastic comment. After De Niro and Highpower split in 2018, reports began to surface that she’s a proud Trump supporter. What remains unclear is how much of a role their political differences played in their relationship’s demise.
Still, it’s ironic given that the Hollywood actor is an anti-Trump zealot whose entire existence seems to revolve around attacking and maneuvering against the president.
After special counsel Robert Mueller announced at a press conference late last month that he would prefer to not testify to Congress about his concluded investigation into alleged collusion and obstruction of justice, De Niro penned a public letter to him begging for him to testify.
Days earlier, around the middle of May, the actor hijacked the American Icon Awards to talk trash about Trump.
“The individual who currently purports to lead America is not worthy of any tribute,” he said. “Unless you think of his impeachment and imprisonment as a sort of tribute. Now that’s how you can make America great again.”
Many in the audience responded with boos.

Regarding his ongoing divorce hearings, it’s fascinating that he, a white man, hates Trump, but his wife, a black woman, reportedly supports him. It’s likewise a hilarious sign of karma that this same wife of Mr. I Hate Trump The Racist is now demanding that he pay her some divorce “reparations.”
