Geraldo proposes ‘compromise’ that would have Dems drop impeachment if Barr drops probe

For one brief moment in time on Friday, the entire country — from the elitist liberal Democrats along the coasts to the tough-like-a-brillo conservative Republicans in Middle America — united in joint denunciation of one especially annoyingly over-self-confident man: The one and only Geraldo Rivera.

The bipartisan condemnation and denunciation of the Fox News contributor was spurred by his decision to propose that Democrats and Republicans stop targeting each other with investigations.

Look:

From the looks of it, everybody hated his idea.

Republicans opposed it because they know that no compromise is needed since the Democrats already lost. Special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into alleged Russian collusion and obstruction of justice has concluded, and the president was never indicted. Case closed.

It’s true congressional Democrats might pursue impeachment, but so what? Without the support of the Senate — which is currently controlled by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, aka “Cocaine Mitch” — the left’s dreams of impeachment will never be fulfilled.

And then there’s the fact that a majority of Americans oppose impeachment, meaning that pursuing impeachment could irrevocably harm Democrats going into the 2020 election.

According to the latest Harvard CAPS/Harris poll, which was conducted after Mueller’s press conference last Thursday, only a 37 percent minority of voters support impeachment.

But the key reason Republicans responded so negatively to the FNC host’s proposal was that they want justice for the president, a man whom they fervently believe was targeted by the administration of former President Barack Hussein Obama for certain political doom.

Check out the Republican response below:

Ouch @ the latter tweet!

Democrats opposed it because they still think #RussiaGate is a thing. It’s not. Mueller’s concluded investigation into alleged Russian collusion found that President Donald Trump did not collude with Russian operatives to affect the 2016 election. Mueller’s investigation also found a lack of evidence to charge/convict the president with obstruction of justice.

Despite Mueller’s conclusions, liberal Democrats refuse to give up because #OrangeManBad.

Observe the Democrat response to Rivera’s tweet below:

Remember, #OrangeManBad.

Another point to consider is that at least liberal Democrats got their questions answered. They don’t like the answers, but they got them nevertheless because Mueller’s investigation was allowed to continue for roughly two full years.

Attorney General Bill Barr’s investigation into the origins of the Russia probe just started, on the other hand, and a myriad of questions remain unanswered.

When did the Russian collusion narrative form? What role did the Steele dossier play? Why was the dossier allowed to be use at all given what was known about it? Etc.

Overall, Republicans have a lot more to lose from a compromise than Democrats, though Democrats of course see things quite differently.

But as accurately noted by Rivera in one final tweet Friday evening, they may one day come to regret their exceeding arrogance:;

And by heroes he probably meant the likes of Comey, former CIA Director John Brennan, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch and even former President Barack Hussein Obama.
